With that sell pressure we're not going anywhere...almost 10 BTC to 20 sat on Bittrex.
Thing is, unless someone targets this for a pump (and dump) nobody is going to invest that kind of money in Food.

The sellers need to decide what they really want. At the moment I see a lot of scared weak hands dreaming of riches but lacking the balls to do what is necessary.

I'll be watching this for another week or so and then decide whether to dump my IPO stash and be done with it or ride the whale for another while.

I don't expect Plankton to have a price rivaling Nxt's after 3 weeks. I think being stable around 1000% higher than the initial offering is a feat in itself (I can't think of any recent offerings that gave similar returns). I'm not after some quick pump/ dump, I want a gradual rise that is backed by results from the team. If you're in FOOD to become an overnight millionaire, you're probably in the wrong coin. These things take months, even years.


I'm only using Nxt as an example because both coins have a 1,000,000,000 supply.

I agree with you. The sellers don't seem to agree though hence my argument.

I commend you for your long term plans and I really like this coin and the positive feeling about it.
However you know better than me that it'll take a hell of a lot of development and activity to make it survive for more than 3 months.

I certainly hope it does!

Plankton Linux Wallet - my way

(Requires the packages for Qt5 development)


1. download the .zip file [source: https://github.com/plankton-food/Plankton/] --> for example: /home/user/Downloads/Plankton-master.zip

2. extract, change directory, create obj directory in Plankton-master/src

Code:

~/Downloads> unzip Plankton-master.zip
~/Downloads> cd Plankton-master/src
~/Downloads/Plankton-master/src> mkdir obj

3. chmod leveldb, which also makes problems during installation on some wallets

Code:

~/Downloads/Plankton-master/src> chmod +x leveldb/build_detect_platform

4. build unix

Code:

~/Downloads/Plankton-master/src> make -f makefile.unix

Coffee time  

5. rename "wallet_logo.png" to "Wallet_Logo.png"

Code:

~/Downloads/Plankton-master/src> cd qt/res/images
~/Downloads/Plankton-master/src/qt/res/images>  mv wallet_logo.png Wallet_Logo.png

6. back to Plankton-master

Code:

~/Downloads/Plankton-master/src/qt/res/images> cd /home/user/Downloads/Plankton-master
~/Downloads/Plankton-master>

7. build qt

Code:

~/Downloads/Plankton-master> qmake
~/Downloads/Plankton-master> make

Tea time  

Well Plankton-qt was created.

In addition, two directories are created.
/home/user/.Plankton (database folder, wallet.dat etc)
/home/user/.config/Plankton (Plankton-qt.conf)

The first launch fails, then it works.

Send/ Receive okay.
Lock/ Unlock okay.

Tested on Ubuntu. I will test it on Arch Linux soon.

May I suggest commissioning the artist of the logo to create a banner?  Reusing it there looks off, and the text is redundant.
