I seem to be missing the target market for smartcoin,

Should Smartcoin Change To POS?

Or must smartcoin stay away from POS, because of what is thought to be the 'all important' smartphone market for smartcoin?

If smartphones are so important to smartcoin, then why is the smartphone market non-existent for smartcoin?

Investors should be driving smartcoin price up, just based on the speculation of the non-existent smartphone market for smartcoin?


I have no patience to wait for the 'non-existent' smartphone markets to somehow notice smartcoin, when smartcoin is just sitting around waiting to be noticed by the smartphone markets.


But I believe POS might help considerably in the short term, with liquidity and the price of smartcoin goes up along with more buy orders for smartcoins on the exchanges, and people wanting to buy smartcoin.

We need something that gets people to want to buy smartcoins.


If it is smartphones that attracts investment, fine, but if it is POS, then fine too.

But I think smartcoin needs investment asap, there is no time to waste.
Therefore if you think smartphone categories will invest into smartcoin, then make it happen asap.

And you want us to put off POS, to wait for the nonexistent smartphone markets to notice smartcoin?
I don't have patience for that at all. Make it happen now.

Either way, I don't care, but I prefer to make it happen asap.

Both smartcoin and netcoin started out as scrypt coins.
Both coins changed last year.
We see netcoin has had some success with their changes to POS and PIR, they have liquidity.
We see smartcoin has not had much success with the changes, and there is hardly any liquidity.
That is why I am thinking POS or some kind of interest paid in the wallet might be really good for smartcoin to increase liquidity, (but people are saying pos will harm the smartphone possibilities for smartcoin, but I don't see any smartphone possibilities, there isn't any smartphone market for smartcoin at this time)

Netcoin has over 400 million coins(and producing more all the time), and is trading higher priced per coin, than smartcoin with only 24.5 million coins all time. Do you see the opportunity for smartcoin there? I hope so

I predict smartcoin price goes up between 10x to 20x (1800 to 3600 satoshi) shortly after changing to POS with interest in wallet, to perhaps float in similar ways to netcoin, but smartcoin would still have fewer coins, so I don't know.
and I would still consider that to be low priced, another 10x(I mean 100x to 200x or 18000 to 36000 satoshi per coin) might be possible in the near to mid term. Longer term, who knows?
It might create incentive to buy smartcoins and hold smartcoins, because people earn coins from POS and also from interest. People don't sell as many coins then.
There isn't as many coins sitting on exchanges maybe, and that helps smartcoin too, because it is too high risk to have too many coins sitting on an exchange.
People put the coins in their wallets, to get paid the interest and POS.

I think Netcoin is showing us the way. The rates of interest might be lowered at a later time, but I think a high rate of interest, like Netcoin, for the first year or two after going POS with interest, should help smartcoin considerably.
Because people will buy it for the high rate of interest, and the fact people are buying it, creates liquidity,
and smartcoin needs liquidity.

Whereas, show me the money with smartphones associated with smartcoin

So is this coin in maintenance mode? or is there a capacity issue? or just a software problem that has not been rectified?

Sorry about delays in answering questions.
I am not the most technically knowledgable person, but I have been trying to find people to invest and help smartcoin in many ways, including answering questions.

Smartcoin needs to stabilize and try to create more trust, for one thing, and with more trust, then more investors, and improved liquidity on exchanges.
The dev(psionin) hasn't been posting recently either, and we need psionin to post more often to help build trust, so I am hoping enthusiastic people will get involved in smartcoin, and from my last post I mentioned I think POS or interest paid in the wallets to people is something I like.
This high interest at beginning of pos and interest, would also reward people for sticking with smartcoin during all this time.

My wallet also didn't synch for a while, but now is synching again.

I do not know the answer.

SMC has 2 markets right now.  SMC is listed on Cry and this gives it solid 'bluechip' potential.

POS is weak on security.  x11 POW is backed by Start and Dash.  SMC can run at the #3 spot on that hash network.

So on both fronts SMC is in a good position.

And the community is small enough to fork .. if and only if a better network to run on becomes clear.  Until then think, learn, and wait and see what happens in the crypto-verse.

On the smartphone market ... again it will take time ... but if we build a solid $100k product taking it to TeleCom vendors will be a much easier pitch.

SMC is in round 1 of finding solid long term investors and building the roadmap for the future.

I am in favor of changing smartcoin to pos, I think netcoin has done ok with that, and smartcoin might do ok too.

I think the most important thing is to try and find a fulltime dev for smartcoin, someone who invests their own time and money, and will stick with smartcoin long term, and try to help build more trust.
Look at Microguy from Goldcoin, see how hard he works? That is what smartcoin needs is someone like that.

How about a plan to get a smartphone app made? Is that the first step towards smartphones?
Once there is a smartphone app, then what? How does that become investment into smartcoins on exchanges to improve liquidity?

Explain where is the money with smartphones for smartcoin.


Someone said that to me, when I was introducing them to smartcoin, they said:

"SHOW ME THE MONEY",

so show me the money, and I can then show it to other people, and they might buy smartcoin.

SHOW ME THE MONEY is another way of saying 'Whats in it for me?'

smartphone apps

Are about $250 for each Android and iOs, if you want to fork you pay again for a new app.

I am not in favour of the App right now, again very much in core investor stage not consumer utility stage.  And in time the App prices will drop.

If you interested in POS do the homework find the best flavour and dev out there.  Also be aware that you will need about 1000 active 'mint-ors' to have a stable network.  x11 is a solid #3 hash network ... if you are looking for to improve the SMART network I still strongly support POW but we could merge mine with Dash, Start, and Cann.

And if we do nothing SMART network is pretty damn good already, and if we can get the price up hash power goes up too!

Also on the table .... China it be nice to get our #3 market listing trading in CNY.

Looks like someone was selling over 400,000 smartcoins at cryptsy.

These dips in prices are good chances to accumulate or take up a position in smartcoin smc.

There is only 24.5 million coins, so 400,000 is a big percentage of all the coins, great chance to get a big position in smartcoin.

Someone bought them at 178 satoshi I see.  

Price rebounding quickly.

I made the first Smartcoin Smarty & SmartyPants comic strip! That means that picture is like Batman or Superman #1 when they first started? Not as famous, I know. It was Halofire's entry that gave me the idea though.

If you have a blog, website or newspaper, consider writing about the first Smartcoin comic strip that was created during the smartcoin avatar design contest. Don't be too concerned about the imperfections in the early going, Batman and Superman #1 looked different at first too.

We will wait and see what Netcoin Foundation decides though.

by the way, netcoin has a nice wallet for pos and it pays interest for holding coins in the wallet.
