Hello DarkSilk and SilkNetwork members. I just wanted to let you all know that in a few days here I will have some screenshots of the SilkNetwork website. I'll be looking for some input on the layout and styling of the site to see what everyone's opinion is. Feel free to contact me @ m.langdon@silknetwork.org if you have any ideas or suggestions. Hope you all had a very good Christmas and enjoy your New Year! Can't wait!

When will mining start?
When we launch, the date isn't set yet. However, I am fighting for a January launch for Silk and the swap.

To secure the DarkSilk network with 3 tiers i.e. PoW, PoS and Stormnode Quorums we would need to implement either PoW indefinitely (which isn't an issue and all calculations for supply etc. would be done), or we have to strengthen PoS (increase difficulty/randomness). The team is doing the calculations, please bear with us on this, but we wanted to at least let the community understand what we are dealing with and how we are dealing with it. The calculations we need to consider: Block rewards for PoW Block rewards for PoS Stormnode payment amounts DarkSilk budgeting "Superblock" amounts Cost of Stormnodes Cost of Budgeting Proposals Total Coin Supply Length of production/inflation/deflation/distribution So as you can appreciate this will take us a little bit of time to work out (days not weeks)

Great progress guys! I still have all my coins and I'm looking forward to seeing all the fruits of your hard work! Do you have a date for your officiale release? I tried Silkcoin wallet but it stopped syncing after 4hrs. Any suggestions?
restart the wallet if it freezes. you can aslo use the bootstrap. can also use a restart script for if it drops out while syncing. I've been syncing for days. Stuck on block 1256187 for some reason. So far I've tried: -Wallet repair -Adding the extra nodes -Wallet restarts -Computer restarts -Wallet restarting batch file (customized this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=487814.msg11478292#msg11478292) Nothing gets me past... I'm half inclined to just try it again from the bootstrap but wanted to post here first. Any chance someone could upload their blk0001.dat (bootstrap) that has a wallet that's current?

If your trying to sync because you hold funds then yes, do keep trying. If not, then we suggest just leaving funds in Polo for now until the Silkcoin/Silk swap happens. At which point just send your Silkcoin to Weaver for the swap. Scroll up through this thread though as Greg our other developer dumped some seednode ip addresses

Looking good is an understatement. This will revolutionize the cryptoworld and for good reason. I hope this will be the gold standard of what cryptos should be and eliminate all the fucksticks. Thank you.

Is there no way for someone to upload a later version of blk0001.dat to replace the old one? That would get me (and probably many others) past this issue. As far as moving everything to Poloniex, I can't. All my funds are stuck in the wallet and all are staking somehow.

Myself and Amir Abrams have been working hard at getting the codebase finished for DarkSilk and into a testable state once more. Currently we are putting in some additions from Bitcoin Core and tying it all together with the new Dash Core code that we have implemented and the existing underlying Blackcoin source. Matthew Langdon is hard at work on the user accounts of Weaver and the wallet system that accompanies them, which is of course a priority as we want to open registrations ahead of the Silk launch and swap period beginning. Gregory Betz seems to still be eating turkey and probably is lost in a sea of chocolate, however, upon his return he will be recalculating DarkSilk supply etc. for the PoW changes being implemented to secure the 3rd Tier of the DarkSilk network (Stormnode Quorums). Jan Fox, the graphic designer, is still to deliver the final splash screens of DarkSilk and Silk, the logo for Woven within the Weaver platform and he is also creating the graphics for the new thread and its respective OP. Jan's work will be credited in the sourcecode for both Silk and DarkSilk along with his website and contact details if anyone wishes to contact him. Still a lot of work but the finish line is now in sight.

I helped with the graphic design of the new wallet and logo after Hanz took over the project.

Thanks for the help, brotha! Your Silkcoin folder was most helpful. All I had to do was copy the txleveldb folder, the .lock file and the blk0001.dat file over to mine and boom, up to date! At first none of my coins were in the wallet but starting the wallet with the -rescan switch fixed that. Thank you again. Good community we have here!
