Just uploaded blk0001.dat in a zip file to google drive 390MB synced to date
I use to have the same problem but with the help of SLievensDRKSLK I fixed it in two days of syncing
maybe you can do it quicker

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8b9ne_xrZWxNHkwM0JndG9PNWM/view?usp=sharing

Also have the silkcoin.conf added to your Silkcoin folder just in case (It just wouldn't sync for me without it)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8b9ne_xrZWxV3BBVnkxc0FoVjQ/view?usp=sharing

If it's still too slow to sync ask here for more peers since I'm in Europe and some peers won't work for you if you're across the ocean, they'll be too slow

I now copy all my Silkcoin folder every day to a safe place and transfer it back if any problem arise (takes only minutes) ~800MB
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8b9ne_xrZWxU0tQZDdqclB3bjA/view?usp=sharing

Good luck

Congratulations and thanks for the share, it is always interesting to have a updated bootstrap available

Thanks for the help, brotha!  Your Silkcoin folder was most helpful.  All I had to do was copy the txleveldb folder, the .lock file and the blk0001.dat file over to mine and boom, up to date!  At first none of my coins were in the wallet but starting the wallet with the -rescan switch fixed that.

Thank you again.  Good community we have here!

Damn straight. Good to see ya again. We still need to have that Troegs beer! LOL.

Best would be to follow(and retweet Wink ) the Silk Network on twitter. Updates, like the white paper, can be found there.
https://twitter.com/Silk_Network/status/677776959255011328

In short to answer your question:
The old silk coins will be swapped for new silk coins at a 1:1 rate.
Dark Silk will be a new coin to complement Silk.

Silkcoin folder updated for quick sync
copy it to your user\appdata\Silkcoin folder
if you get no coins in your wallet do as Crypt0Keeper did: start the wallet with the -rescan switch

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8b9ne_xrZWxeWVCRVF3WURSYUE/view?usp=sharing

Good syncing

Congratulations!!!!

Thank you!

You're welcome
Also thanks for the tip with the -rescan start of the wallet, I'll put it in the next updated post so other not so techie will know

Btw how long did it take you to get up to date?

Took about 5 minutes for the initial start up after copying in your blk0001.dat file and then another 10-15 minutes for the rescan when I realized no coins were showing, haha.

Hey man! how the hell are ya? How's being a Dad?? Good to see ya back bro. (-;  you should dig up some of your old weaver art again and repost.. so good.  or anything really.  i miss yer deadly posts.

It's pretty amazing actually.  I didn't realize I could love something as much as this little baby, haha.  Glad to be back and trying to catch up with the crypto world again.  First place I start = Silkcoin Smiley

Damn straight. Good to see ya again. We still need to have that Troegs beer! LOL.

general guide:
you can also use another option, it wipes all the forkblocks off the chain at the same time:
clean old data folders (dont delete wallet.dat...)
add to confile:

loadblock=bootstrap.dat  (you rename the fresh blk0001.dat --> bootstrap.dat
maxconnection=0

then:
wait, wait ,wait and wait more, 12-36h depending on your computing power.

then you have a linear, no-fork, best version of the blockchain.
and all your coins in your wallet. (also forked blocks you may have mined  are gone from transaction info)

Argon2d will be the PoW hashing algorithm of DarkSilk.

We are the first coin to announce use of this algorithm.

Miners will be provided, this will not be CPU mineable to avoid botnets. GPU will be possible, with ASIC development being necessary over time.

Wolf9466 is handling the tuning, testing and implementation of the Argon2d algorithm.

https://password-hashing.net/submissions/specs/Argon-v3.pdf

https://password-hashing.net/

EDIT: It seems there is an Argon2Coin but they are allowing CPU mining (possible botnet issues) and do not have everything actually done. Whereas with Wolf9466 doing the work, ours will inevitably be better tuned and of course come with everything that is needed.

I explained in my previous post, to avoid botnets.

Also no, because if PoW is not ending and is continual, why is 12 hours of CPU mining fair? Why is 12 hours the correct amount of time? What is the correct amount of time to allot to CPU mining? The answer, there isn't one.

So no, there will be no CPU mining.

Well in that case, I will have to setup my miners an hour before the wallet launch, get them wallets and mine as fast as possible (or go and pre-reg on a pool and go crazy) or simply buy

You implemented BIP32, good job - Also, I would urge you to consider making a .travis.yml file for making it Travis Ci compatable and therefore being able to make builds faster
