Here is an updated graph to show the total money supply of Silk as well as the inflation rate:

Each black bar represents one decade of Silk money supply creation. The white curve shows the change in the inflation rate over time. 44,000,000 SLK will be the initial money supply. Each year, because of the static PoS block reward of 2 SLK, only 986,175 SLK will be minted. The total money supply of Silk is hardcoded to 2 billion SLK and the network should reach that supply in  about 1984 years.

After the first year, the inflation rate will be 2.145%. By year 10, the inflation rate will have dropped to 1.831%. As you can tell from the graph, the function that produces the inflation rate curve is negatively hyperbolic, and it converges, over time, to ~0.0493% inflation per year.

Hopefully, this clears up any confusion about the supply of Silk. Please do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have here, in a PM, or on the Silk Network Slack Group.

A more detailed analysis; including extensive data, forecasting, graphs, (and more!), of the Silk Network will be included in a forthcoming paper that I am currently writing to be released before the end of 2015.

No DRKSLK will be available at market price. You will be able to use the weaver to swap SLK for DRKSLK just like you would be able to use BTC for DRKSLK but DRKSLK will be priced by the market. DRKSLK and SLK are both independent coins and im looking forward to see them both thriving

Hello, i have bought silk after reading this thread.  I Looking forward to swapping for the Dark Silkcoins once rhe reaver has started.  WHEN is the swap to Dark Silkcoins starting? This is my first post here! Finally made the dive.  It is good read.  But i read that there is a swap but there is nowhere to swap currently? I would like to use my silk on the Darknet.  Is there a link to your dark market?

I know you stated you read the thread, maybe read more of the thread from page 114 onwards for a full picture. After you have read that I am willing to bet most of your answers will of been answered and you'll have new questions

New Silkcoin folder updated for quick sync  including nodes
For Newcomers
download and install the silkcoin wallet first
start the wallet for a minute or so then exit
Get the updated files: Download the silkcoin.zip file, it's around 900megs..
Files here On Google Drive

 
Then use the search feature for windows, and search for %APPDATA%
Once you're there click "Roaming" then goto the Silkcoin dir.
This is the folder where silkcoin wallet keeps the data

Then extract everything over, everything from silkcoin.zip file, into the silkcoin folder you found in the %APPDATA% search. Overwrite all.

Don't delete or play with your wallet.dat file.

PS: You only need to do this in case of trouble, loss of data, no sync wallet, or new to the silkcoin
