Last time i've checked people were saying the price would climb after January, because the tech would be released by then. Is there a delay or?

Complex software is notorious for being behind schedule...
Just think about how many times a new version of Windows was late by a year or more...
There "release date" for Windows 10 is officially "later in the year".

SuperNET has so many moving parts and innovations that this applies...
In the same way it applies to projects like MaidSafe or Etherium.

well the difference in my experience to Etherium is that BTCD actually has prototypes of its features, these features will be released but the care behind the development is necessary in my opinion. This is technology for the betterment of anonymity/humanity.

And Ive ceased all on market sales so i will only be buying until my next round of miner funding at which point i will only be doing off market or instadex trades.

I put error checks for outofband pricematches, so they are rejected.
block 373464 has txid 14565979118655674082, which is the first successful trigger tx for an InstantDEX trade.

I did 72NXT for 1 coinoUSD

1424647629882861488 is the ask, it is in the unconfirmed trades along with 8698983672084812764 for the fee and 11440344300163450416 is the matching bid.

These tx are done for a few minutes now, even though NXT is on a long block. so when the new block comes in they should all get confirmed. yes and they just did!

InstantDEX is about to be released. Hence the price drop. The more features are released the more people like to sell.

It is part of the buy high and sell low strategy. So it is not based on anything rational, unless the point is to create uncertainity

James

It is amusing how this has been the case of late.... seems someone is most certainly holding this coin down, but their bag(s) will eventually run dry and everyone who stayed true will prosper Wink

I'm really anticipating the InstantDEX release; can't wait to see that baby in action...... HODLing strong Smiley

Well, depends on what is meant by "released".  Everything is definitely there and anyone can check/test all the features, but that's if they have the technical knowledge to do so.  But as far as features that are usable by everyone in the community, it's not quite there yet.

Sorry, don't mean to be negative.  Just trying to stir the pot.   Smiley

Fair enough. Having API level functionality still is not so easy to use, but it does reduce the problem difficulty from "making something that has never been done before" to "put a GUI on top of something that exists"

So the risk factor and timelines all become much more understandable

Hi all!

I'm not completely new to BTCD, but I didn't follow close since last summer. Just now I downloaded the wallet for Mac OSX from http://bitcoindark.pw/. But it doesn't sync. Maybe because of Yosemite?

InstantDEX progress report:

Got the asset<->asset trading working and looks good. So now what is left it is the most advanced case (hybrid orders), which isnt even necessary at first and making it automatch and chart signals

Then I will switch over to network security enhancements while the testers are pounding on it.

so, the ramchains, realtime MGW and InstantDEX should go into maintenance mode for me very soon. Then the security revamp will be squeezed in and that leaves Tradebots and Privatebet.

Then I will take a 3 day vacation!

pushed a version that supports cancelquote and also automatches bids and asks. with this InstantDEX core API is feature complete other than automatching hybrid orderbooks. but I need to get bug reports back for all the simpler cases before it makes sense to finalize that part. So I will start on the getsignal API

pushed a release with lottostats and tradehistory API

lottostats just tracks the size of the jackpot, the number of tickets you have and the odds of you winning.

tradehistory is currently just doing a raw dump of all the trades, but a necessary first step before I make it more useful

Thanks James for your progress reports - very encouraging!

btw I never thought I'd see the day: earned just over 1BTCD staking my wallet (over approx. a 5 hour period). Shocked I guess one day, when SuperNET is up and running at full speed and I'm having to make do with a staking reward closer to the expected 5%, I'll look back on that 1BTCD and think wistfully: 'Ah yes, those were the days!'  Smiley
