Dear HEADHUNTERS,

43% of any btc I will be able to get back IF you find the identity of the thief!

If the whole amount will be returned to me (1170BTC) that would be 500BTC.

Wow.... this is awful. Not sure how you're going to trace him but perhaps giving some more info about how your BTC was stored, what sites you use etc will help with this.

You should start from somewhere. Please provide more info. What client have you used, with who have you communicate, where are you from? This terrible news sorry to hear that! Just provide more info.

Best Regards,

Yikes, that's scary. That's why I keep the bulk of my coin in cold storage !

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

It appears that OP just recently moved the coins there perhaps for a transaction. I'd advise OP states what he was doing with 1k BTC as could be a  possible inside job. Probably moved to compromised online wallet....

Jesus Christ that's a lot of money.

How did you lose them? Where you putting trough a transaction and did the person you send it to just plain send the coins to another addres or how? I don't understand how anything like this could happen...  Cry

Edit: That explains a lot...

Is there any way you can contact Dropbox and ask for the IP that logged in at that account?

That was hard to trace without other info. The bitcoins is transferred to new unused bitcoin address it can only be trace once it is moving again.

If you're stealing that much cash you won't be making it that easy...

The truth is that in all probability you won't be seeing those BTC again, however, there is the slimmest chance that you can at least bring the criminal to justice, that is what you should focus on.

Perhaps send some tracker transactions to hopefully slow down the laundering but he could keep the BTC there for years....

DUDE NOT COOL!!!!
There's got to be a way to find him. Maybe tracking the coins on the blockchain to see what he does with them? That's an awful lot of coin.

Looks like he might need a visit from the Cousins. And the Uncle.

And what exactly do you think you can do about it?

The BTC is gone man, and it is probably from someone close to him.
