8k to 10k satoshis, obviously.

Yes, 8k to 10k satoshis. I can see a 3 million dollar marketcap for VIA with all this BTC forking crap coming our way.

On the short run this is quite possible. On the long run, I would expect it to reach at least the top 50 on Coinmarketcap, so that would be a value of about 20k sat (5 mln USD).

I think you need to at least do something to generate buzz. Is Segwit active yet? Should make a huge deal out of that.
I was already planning that in December.
I or someone else can make a server running a Viacoin node.
Just do a rpc call & parse the command getblockchaininfo

Put it into json, make an api of it.

Call the api with javascript on the Viacoin website.
Since the Viacoin site server has no backend language like php, nodejs or Ruby. Which is safer.

Ok bought a large chunk of this. The coin looks solid so I hope it rises.

Is segwit already ready?

It looks no serious people on this coin, i mean buyers with money and whales

Is it VIA slack?

the first segwit node is synced but it hasnt been activated yet

no slack but 200+ ppl in telegram room https://t.me/viacoin

Viacoin has a large telegram channel, very popular. Glad to see the massive adoption in the altcoin market. To be honest, viacoin can be top 20, but we need more time to wait.

Ranked 57 on Coingecko BTW.  It passes a lot of the larger market cap coins because of developer interest and buzz.

I think this will likely go up like bitsend and pivx. Both very underappreciated, developed without much fuss and followed by loyal community.

Ranked 57?! With my activity?? Should be in the top 20!

Well it makes sense. Coingeko links to the old Viacoin repository and not my fork & the private Gitlab repository.

So I can argue, it should actually be ranked higher.
But Alright, doesn't matter just as long as you guys know it Smiley
Sharp people remember I work on my own account and Gitlab

Nice job Romano! Many good quotes!

For the lazy people these are his contributions:

“What we are seeing is a stalling tactic from miners,” Viacoin lead developer Romano told Bitcoin Magazine. “They know that if SegWit activates on altcoins, it will make blocking it on Bitcoin even less credible.”

SegWit signaling will start soon on Viacoin, but Romano is not very optimistic about quick activation: “It seems more likely they want to refrain from activating Segregated Witness on altcoins because that would give them even less reason to hold off activation on Bitcoin.”

Romano went even further. “Maybe F2Pool are under some hidden pressure or coercion, and are trying to make a plausible cover story. It is well known that Jihan Wu of Bitmain controls the supply of about 70 percent of the mining hardware. His mining pool is blocking SegWit on Bitcoin, and he is able to exert pressure on miners and pools by sanctioning new equipment sales should they go against his wishes.”

But not even 3 days later...

In conclusion: I was right. Jihan Wu is lying. He does pressure miners & pools. He just got exposed

So you can not implement segwit until Jihan Wu changes his attitude as he is behind Bitcoin unlimited???

Now Jihan secret is out, I don't think Jihan can keep blocking Segwit on F2Pool.

Also they are blocking it atm, do you think Bitcoin Unlimited will win?
Are we planning to sell Bitcoins now?

Do we see Bitcoin Core devs stopping with Segwit because 1 Chinese man child is playing around?

quitting is not an option.
I'm an honest Developer with a good reputation, I told Bitcoin magazine the situation and how I see it.

But hey, F2Pool might stop blocking Segwit on altcoins in order to clean up his name.
That would be the right strategy.

But hey who am I right? I don't hold anyone back to buy Trump, Lepen and some weed coins.
Personally I just look at a longterm perspective. They can't keep blocking it.

Meanwhile, I just keep improving Viacoin Core code & extra testing.
Also working on new stuff like ElectrumX

Does Jihan wait for bribes or what? He knows he's got power now and he has the option to make lots of money. Maybe he suppresses the market for a long time, and finally announce that BU won't be realized => BTC to moon

This is surely possible, but even more likely is that he just does not want to admit he was wrong Cheesy

For a decentralized coin, there sure is a lot of power in the hands of petty people sometimes. The good thing to remember is that behavior like this will ensure a lot of people will start bringing people like that down.
