I'm NOT sure! (dont have my S3 yet) But for me it Looks like there is only 1 boad running!
You should have 2 chain's showing! Not just one ... That's why you have just the half Speed.

Yeah, I noticed that a few minutes ago looking at the specs. I still think it might be the power supply, but I'm not sure if it's possible. The T/S Info dogie posted earlier shows that a faulty board might show up with all X's, and this one is completely not on the board.

per my previous edit, I'll be getting 2 new PSU's in later today. I also have two S3 machines, though due to only having one PSU, only one is running.

Just got mine today from China. Took me half the time to set it up compared to my S1. What actually took me some time, was remember the path to the config file so I could look at the settings if I decide to overclock.  Grin

But all is good. It's running quite nicely!

Doesn't make much difference other than bandwidth down but variance up.

can someone help please?

I just got my s3, setup all the pools (I entered same info for all three as I only have one worker)

for pool I use slush sio I entered

stratum+tcp://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333

then clicked save ad apply but under miner status, nothing is happening.

I plugged power to the PCIe connectors closest to LAN connector.

any ideas why?

EDIT: did the DHCP thing and its hashing now.

another question, why there are so many discarded?

Pardon the crosspost, but this might help (from the author of the underlying mining software):

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=671189.msg8056057#msg8056057

If you want to reduce the processor load, you can consider changing the queue option to 1:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=671189.msg8124268#msg8124268

My recommendation, gleaned from the 180 pages of that thread, is to *only* change the queue option, not --scan-time or --expiry.

Was I helpful?   BTC: 3G1Ubof5u8K9iJkM8We2f3amYZgGVdvpHr

sorry I dont understand what it means about the queue changes etc, what is it good for? Why would I want to reduce processor load?

thanks

EDIT: also, do I need to change frequency ? My average after 46 mins is at 441.66gh/s. Few ppl mentioned lowering to 212.5 ?

Correct.  There is no LAN activity at all on the device.  The OS is not booting.  Red light on back just blinks and the only green light that is lit and blinking is on the NIC, but there is no traffic going over the wire.  I'm pretty sure the firmware went terribly wrong.  After clicking to flash the device, I walked away and when I came back I had page not found in the browser.

After repeated emails, still haven't heard back from Bitmain.
.

Hi,  Did you get any support on how to fix this problem?  My unit still dead,  please let me know if you fixed,  Thanks

Discards mean nothing, don't worry.

You might get the chip back, you might not. I had the same at start and then that chip came on line later. Either way, its 3% hash rate, not more than $10.
