Hi Dogie,

Now one of those two miners I said would not reset has a bad board or something.  It has gone completely down.  Any suggestions?

I have not even had these a week yet.  I reboot it only to see one board active.

Reboot it again...  IT ALSO APPEARS THAT 1 OF THE 2 FANS ARE OUT AS WELL.  The software acts like it is for an S4 and as if I have 4 fans with 3 fans out.  When in reality I have only 2 fans with 1 fan out.  Did they load the wrong software on this miner or what?

EVERYTHING WAS GOING FINE UNTIL I GOT THIS EMAIL FROM SLUSH:  NOTICE ALL WAS FINE FOR 2 DAYS 18 HOURS...

Well, I switched back to the 2 other PCI-e ports I was using at first and now it's working.  I guess it was just some kind of glitch.

Oh Well...

False Alarm...

I think I know why my S3's will not RESET properly.

THEY LOADED THE WRONG SOFTWARE ONTO THIS RIG.

Both of these S3's have only 2 fans each because they are S3's.  However, the software looks like it is for the S4 because it will allow me to change the voltage AND the software has a reading for four (4) fans.  This rig only has two fans; it's an S3.

I BELIEVE THAT IS THE REASON THESE TWO (2) NEW S3's I PURCHASED WILL NOT RESET PROPERLY!  THE WRONG SOFTWARE INSTALLED ON THEM AT THE FACTORY!

Does anyone else have S3's that show four (4) fans in "Miner Status?"

Yes it is entirely normal, all miners forever have shown 4 fan boxes. Please be more patient in the future, you posted 4x here and in the S4 threads as well overnight. Not everyone works on US time.

So im setting up a farm with (20) S3+ B11 with a 24 port 10/100/1000 router. I have set them all on individual static ip. My question is: I mine altcoins mostly. Its REALLY time consuming to go in 20 times over and change the pool. Is there any way to change the pool ONCE, and affect them all? Also my firmware is back from August on all of them. Should I upgrade them all to antMiner_S320141126.bin? I heard the latest firmware slows speed to double digits. If this is not the best/fastest/stable one, which firmware is? Is there a modded unofficial firmware? I do alot of multipools too.

Vegas

I want to make sure everyone knows that I just released my software called "Yobit pump alert". THis is custom software that uses an algo to detect the start of a pump here on yobit, the second it starts. YOu can even filter the coins you see by price. Most pumps start less than 100 sats , so you can easily filter the cheap coins, so they are the only ones displayed Smiley https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1945937.msg20241953#msg20241953

Leave the latest firmware for now. There is a software program (see the other subforum) which will allow you to control your S3s from one place.

I flashed the firmware on all my S3s today. All except one completed the process. I could not connect to it. So i used the reset button.

I was not able to connect to the original IP address (192.168.1.99) after resetting.

I noticed that only the red light blinks. None of the other LED lights come on. Also, the green light for the internet connection only comes on for a few seconds after starting turning on the miner.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Hello legendary miners!

I'll be moving my small home-farm /9 antminers s3/ to a new location. And was wondering do I need to care what the new place' subnet is if all of my miners are set to DHCP protocol? In other words since they are all DHCP will they just start working when I plug 'em to the other place's lan?

Cheers!

You'll be fine, its exactly what DHCP is designed to do. They'll ask the router what IPs are available and then use what they're given.

Likely bricked if you can't get the reset button to work.

Pretty low, but then again a PSU is an investment which holds its resale value well. Not choosing a suitable PSU will likely hurt you later.

Early life failure = RMA costs + downtime costs + replacement costs + buying a suitable PSU in the future costs.
