Looks like it was a scam out to get Bittrex if you ask me.

"EXCHANGES:
- We're looking to get on Bittrex once we launch! "

Maybe the people who are blaming Bittrex should be blaming their shady dev. Anyone willing to go along with this obviously lost money and is looking for someone to take down with them. You guys are just as pathetic as the dev.

Had to include a great post from the first page...

Bittrex is not the problem. YOU are the problem. Who ask you to buy elite ?

U lost money and u are angry ? Get over it, just like people who got BTC on gox.

If u loss money and start blaming, u should seriously get out of alt and hold your BTC.

Nobody force u to buy any coin. U buy it , u know the risk. If u loss money, don't blame others but yourself.
I do not blame Bittrex for losing money as I did not invest in the coin. However I blame them for the following:

* Taking no care in adding coins leading to support scam developers again and again
* Not really caring about it and acting like they have no professional responsibility, no plans to try and change the situation
* Hurting users and potentially driving them away from altcoin trading due to the risks of a coin being a scam
* Taking volume away from established coins by purely just relying on new coins for volume

It's sad to see how few people notice how damaging this is on the altcoin market, it's not by coincidence there is much less volume now than a few months ago.

I hope none of you miners are saying the fault lies with the investors and not with bittrex.  The investors pay you for your coins.  They rely on Bittrex to vet the coins.  Is it stupid on the investors part? Of course it is.  But that doesn't change the fact that they do rely on bittrex to vet coins.  Investors who can't do the research or don't have the time to do the research make up all most all of the money you the miner are making.  So if their money stops all the mining for profit stops.  I don't see why Bittrex wouldn't jump at the change to hire people to vet code.  It is in their best interest to do so.  Unless of course bittrex doesn't want the hidden premines found.  Maybe they are profiting from them.

I lost over 20btc on ICEBERG COIN and I only have myself to blame for not selling for double my profits during IPO. So please, DYOR don't blame shit and stuff. People win and lose money all day and if you cannot afford to lose money don't bloody be in crypto.

good victim. good. let me pat u on the head.

you bought 20% of the icb ico and u blame yourself only.

didnt you research it? haha.

the first step to overcome victimhood is to start blaming the people who scammed you! that was the dev and bittrex.

I could have got out @ 18k sats which I didn't. Greed took over. Honestly, shitcoins and fucked up devs happen everyday. For all u may know I might die on my next trip overseas because my plane went crashing.

yes dude. i can see how a plane crashing and killing u is the same as me losing money for holding a shitcoin for 2 hours.

anyway,

here is what bittrex says about its process of coin selection:

"We look for coins that have high community demand, innovations to cryto-coin technology, or a contribution to science and humanity."

do you feel bittrex met this mission with the addition of elitecoin?

because if they followed their own rules i wouldn't have had money stolen from me.

no offence, but you are a moron not really wise to put that much money on that sort of coin, and I warned people on iceberg thread telling them that would end up like that.

Don't believe anyone who tell you it will be huge or whatever, except cinnicoin, no coin with 1 week PoW/PoS has ever succeded so an IPO on top of it and many rental rigs, you have absolutely no chance of making any real profit...
Hope you learned the lesson...  Roll Eyes

But yes it sucks that Bittrex gives credit all that crappy coin and don't list real new coin...
Bittrex will be dead soon if they continue these business practices

It depends how long you have been trading here, there were barely any scam coins as little as 3-4 months ago, certainly nothing like today and it comes hand in hand with the rising volume of Bittrex it appears.

You invested in something bad, so its the medium you purchased thorough fault?

the technical term for 'something bad' in this case is 'fraud' and 'scam.'

since the platform initiated and profited from the scam they are as responsible as the dev and me.

to continue this ridiculous claim that only the investor is to blame indicates your own willingness to support frauds and scams. therefore we cannot trust your opinion in this matter.

Yep, when that medium takes no counter measures it is their fault.

I'm going to start a casino.... where companies can put their slot machines on my floor.  I will not ensure in anyway what so ever that those slot machines are set to payout as advertised.  So when people get burned is it my fault or the scam slot machines?

It's both.

Too easy... Everybody knows (except some sock puppet on icebercoin thread) it will end up like this. So bittrex knows it too...
The fact they are listing many (not one but many) IPO scam makes them accomplices of the scam.
(and no words from them is even worst)

It is not Bittrex's fault for trying to make the majority of the crypto community happy.  Bittrex's responsibility is an exchange, and IS NOT a code checker.

The only defense against a rigged game is not to play.  If the investors don't play miners don't make money.  Bittrex can check the code and make it a fair game.  Where there are winners and losers not just everyone loses.  Why don't you want that bittrex?  Are you the ones rigging the game?

There is NO need to check the code. Just stop adding coins on the second day and give them a chance to prove themselves, that would weed out the scam developers. I wouldn't complain if there was 1 or 2 a month, but there's been too many to count recently, it's insane.

It is entirely their fault. If you know something is fraudulent you don't list it (or you delist it)
And in the mean time other good coin don't get listed...

From what I gather here...half of you want crypto to become a stock (essentially) and highly regulated and the other half are smart enough to not buy shit and blame someone else for it.

It blows my mind people run wallets without typing 'getinfo' into the debug console as the first thing they do.

If you didn't type 'getinfo' into the debug console then feel free to blame whoever you want, but you have to blame yourself as well.

Also might want to take some time to understand the debug console and how it can help/protect you.

The coin was clearly demanded by a sizeable flock of easily misguided sheep so yeah, this went with their own rules.
