Hello,

If anyone is watching this thread, please provide an up-to-date version of the blockchain as the faucet site is down because of this and I'm trying my best a couple of days ago to sync with no success

Thanks in advance.

Here I post an updated version of blockchain.
I hope it will help.

https://mega.nz/#!gosglBjK!40yn7aBZJFBKfeBJGxUbFyCXOy3fsC7N9VBFkW3XMW4

Thank you very much !!

It's up and running now Smiley
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Love your work bitfreak!

Me too! Crypto adoption will take longer than many of us hoped for in 2013, so blockchain bloat and scaling is a real issue for new users.

Stay strong bitfreak, and keep up the good fight Smiley

Btw,
are there any mirrors available for the mac os wallets?
The download is broken ...

And how do I start the linux client? It seems to be the compiled binary? But cannot start it, nor can I unpack it.

Btw: Looking at the kH/s of 1gh.com, I am surprised by how much processing power some users seem to have at hand:
http://xcn.1gh.com/

The top three together have 70- 160x the processing power of a good midrange nvidia GPU.
Are they really using 160 computers full time? That must be really expensive ... I wonder if there's a trick to that? As there is quite a large gap to the next fastest users in the list.

Firefox is blocking it as well. Why? Because someone/-thing reported the site. Why that? All speculation. Either the site really tried to run harmful scripts or offered infected software/miner or just some crypto newbs, or perhaps web bots, downloaded the miner, got the usual Trojan warning (from a lot of miner being the payload of trojans for botnet mining) from AV, panic (the newbs, probably not the bots) and reported the site without performing further research into the matter.

Well, now think high end GPU, highly optimized miner, 4x SLI/crossfire and the number of computers isn't that high anymore and there are surprisingly many people in crypto running 10-20 of these even privately as a hobby. Lots of money for a hobby but then a horse or two, high functions or jet propelled rc models or amateur car racing can easily be even more expensive as a hobby without a chance to get some of that money back, not to speak of profit.

Still going higher. At this point up 10x from a few weeks ago. I wonder if something is up? Seems a poor candidate for a takeover scam given the very, very slow emission curve.

Assuming it's not abandonware, XCN was (is?) very oversold.

Mini-blockchain is still a very cool idea, even if Nobody Cares at the moment.

And every coin with a unique proof-of-work accrues value every day it continues to exist, as a backup/adjunct to Bitcoin if for no other reason.

Too bad sidechains don't work, or we could bolt Confidential Transactions onto this thing and take it out to Bonneville.

yeah but open source. and if anyone ever gets interested in developing this coin, or this type of technology, I'm assuming its easier to take something over than relaunch.

It doesn't need a coder for a good idea Smiley
And once the concept stands, more or less any coder can do the job. So it's good that it's open source. It seems, though, as if nothing's happening there. Understandable given the little popularity of the coin.
Fortunately, it's working - at least under windows. And I trust in it given that it's the only solution so far for bitcoin's lack of scalability (only ~7 transactions / sec max) and long-term handleability (block chain size).
Or is there anything else around that solves these problems?

Someone, please upload current blockchain to google driver or mega, it really takes forever to sync!
Just zip this folder "c:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Cryptonite\blocks".
