ehm.. where are the 14 million coin?

I bet there are so many people hitting themselfs in the head atm. Everybody thought there were going to be 100M coins in circulation fast...i bet they did not know mining them would be so hard:d

Yup mining is damn hard, with my 13.8 MH/s I'm looking to get only around 276 coins per day Cheesy
People who wanna invest in CKC for the long term would be wise to buy now while the coin is still cheap.

they were sold in an ico before launch and are therefore in the hands of the people that invested

But they didn't finish the ICO, so what happened to the rest of the coins ?

they finished the ico. i witnessed it myself live. where are you getting this from ?

Facebook.

So at first they were selling @ 4000sat then changed it to 1000sat ? correct ?   and in one day they sold about 12 million coins ?

There you go, someone is holding 8 million - http://cryptobe.com/address/CWLBGaR9UWkQdTjah7g75PJvemS13xPgoD

they initially planned to hold the ico at 4000, but reduced it to 1000, because they needed less funds to make this happen. all 14 mio were sold at 1000 afaik.

that 8 million might be c-cex.com, where the ico was hosted.

Don't count on it, 13 million coins were traded in only 24 hours, there are definitely big holders.

i think you might have missunderstood. its good that the 8 million account belongs to c-cex.com. it is an exchange, which means those coins don't belong to a single person. i would even think that if someone owned a million or more coins they would absolutely not have them laying around on c-cex. while i'm impressed with ccex so far in terms of speed and interface, it is not a big or reputable exchange yet.

my personal conclusion is that if there are very big holders they must have less than those 4 million ckc that have been withdrawn from ccex until now. which is totally good and speaks for an at least 'ok' distribution.

while were at it: dev you need to make a richlist or put up a bounty for that.

for starters there should be a more lively discussion in this thread to keep it on top of the ANN page.

going by other coins examples i would say the most effective marketing is to swarm out and spread the word everywhere on the web. twitter, facebook, reddit and whatever else there is.
we need an army of 'footsoldiers', fun memes, well done animated videos, some artwork to spread and show the possibilies of the tech. its important to explain on how to utilize the coins unique features in a fun and easy way.

a reddit add campaign would be good, if we can come up with a good slogan and some artwork. maybe something along the lines of 'explore the world and hunt for treasures' and some cool pirate treasure artwork to go with it.

edit: what we should not do is spam bitcointalk with useless threads.
are there any other major crypto forums? if so we need threads there and someone to maintain them.

edit2: how about a bounty for the best ideas? you were going to pay a marketing firm for this. doesn't have to be much.

+1

All good ideas.

I have experience in writing pressreleases, I think I have an idea how it should be put together to entice people to look at Checkcoin and possibly get a little hype going.
However English is not my first language, so it should be proofread by a native speaker, but that shouldn't be a problem.

I could proofread your pressrelease for key points, content and general direction. I would do that for free since I am invested in Checkcoin and possibly will benefit from the increased exposure.

Hello SpringfieldM1A,

We send you a pm earlier today. Could you send an e-mail to maurice@bitsend.nl? We would like you to write a press release for us. We'll make sure it gets proofread by the right people.

We look forward to hearing from you!
