ShapeShift.io - Instant Coin Exchange

ShapeShift has a VERY bad customers record, this thread is full of them. It is hard to trust them so when I did my first swap I used changelly.com and it was a great experience.

I have not used ShapeShift because of very bad reviews so will not recommend them but I can and do and will recommend changelly.com

On the front end f shapeshift, it says there is a minimum amount for each currency. This minimum amount is not listed in the API anywhere. How is this minimum value calculated. Is it pegged to a USD value? I noticed the bitcoin minimum is 4218 satoshis, which is about 1 penny. Are all currencies set to a one penny minimum?
Also, I'm unfortunately going to have to remove shapeshift.io integration from my project because of the new minimum amount requirement. The way my app works, is it sends lots and lots of small amounts from many senders, but to a relatively small number of recipients. Most shifts from me will be $0.05 and less. Most probably under $0.01
Maybe if shapeshift.io worked such that it keeps shifts under the minimum internally until the total amount exceeds the minimum, then makes the deposit

So you mean that you didnt able to recieve those BTC converted from ETH. I disagree on the things you are saying things up with Shapeshift. I did able to experience issues on conversion where it didnt reach out into my account due to i have used exchange wallets which they do suggest always make use of a wallet which doesnt belong into an exchange. Their support do respond atleast 24 hours and do resolve my issue fast. Dont know what happen in your part.

Yes, from now I didnt received a proper answer.
No money back, no answer. The thing is stuck now on the shapeshift side for like +12 days.

They just closing the ticket on their homepage or banning me shapeshift Reddit,
for posting a honest pissed off feedback.

Unfortunately ShapeShift was never known for its excellent customer services

Doesn't instill a lot of confidence for those waiting on refunds from shapeshift.

I've used shapeshift maybe 40 times. The last time there was an issue and it took me 2 days to get my coins back.

39 of 40 is obviously really good. The 1/40 time was a but unnerving.

If you do go with shapeshift - keep track of

- the address you're sending to (at shapeshift)
- the address you're expecting the Ethereum Classic
- The wallet where you can get your refund if the exchange/trade fails
- Transaction ID when you send

My coins have been held for 9 days now.

Going to wait till shapeshift shows what they are upto.

Its been said not to send coins when there is no incentive to act on the promise- use escrow. There is no escrow with shapeshift.

There is no escrow with most exchanges. Make sure you have the keys.

spaceshift is very convenient, but expensive.

changelly has a better customer service

I've used shapeshift a lot and have thus far, received all the assets I've exchanged with them. The only issue I have is that it's a pricey exchange.

I've used ShapeShift many times in the past. It's quick and easy solution.I really like the idea of this service but I wish the fees were lower.

changelly.com is better because it has better customer services, lower fees and a better UI

I haven't lost any coins on changelly.com like I have shapeshift. But I avoid both now. Bisq has escrow, you aways have some control.

Sorry about your problems. I used Changelly a couple of times and never had issues with it. This thread is full of posts stating they had issues with ShapeShift.
