On a side note i'm keeping an eye on this one. I don't know exactly why but i can see some potential in this project. Granted, this won't be the next BTC but i'm grabbing some GRN just in case. You never know, and scrypt mining is booooring (i never have to service the RasPi and ASICs). GPU mining is so much more fun, although i sold most of my gear almost a year ago.

tanx also for the huge vote of confidence for granitecoin itself ... we work on it all the time - with slow but very steady progress ...
we see that you have been mining on our pool also ... any feedback you may have ( as with anyone else ) is important to us ... changes are still taking place in the backend of the pool - so feedback is pivotal ...
changes such as zero mining fees very soon - change in rates of donations to the pool if the miner feels philanthropic - bonus granitecoin rewards based on finding blocks as an addition to what you are rewarded from the block - and a few others such as a donation mining system ...
personally - ive been mining granitecoin just after it was first introduced - literally from the beginning ... i was so impressed with how good it performed as a mineable coin - and traded well - that when the original dev and the original owner needed to release it ( due to the amount of time - effort - and money involved in running it - as well as a huge drop in interest after massive dumps were made when #granitecoin was on bittrex at the time ) - i jumped at the chance ...
so here we are ... progress slow but on par with what granitecoin was originally was designed for ... simple - solid - stable ... a miners coin in its truest sense ...
so all the seednodes were setup on stable and reliable servers ... block explorers ( 3 of them at the moment - each with its unique features from basic to feature rich ) ... just recently organized our own pool based on mpos - which as explained earlier we are improving as best we can ... domains setup and ready to take on the website - which is still a little bit off - but is in the works ... the change of logo and graphics - which will include wallet and promotional material ... and a vast number of other things like faucets - giveaways - promotional setups - competitions ...
our focus at the moment is to get the donation / mining system up and running next ... this simply means that if you want to donate to help everything granitecoin grow - then there will a number of ways of doing it ... from direct deposits in #grn and #btc to pointing your miners at the server for a little while to help us with earning a few coins of your choosing or ours ( currently testing with x11 only - but that can and probably will change to other algos if this form of donation mining is stable ) ...
we will be putting all this info in the op soon enough - and sooner than later i will be devoting more and more time - until i can devote full time to this project ...
again - all this is a very slow process and as such ( and as always ) no promises are made - especially marketing hype promises to increase volume or value of the coin ...
we just believe in steady work to improve and set each stage in concrete so we can move to the next ...
ultimately - we want nothing more than to continuously learn - consistently grow and stay stable as well as become a usable and tradeable coin ...
ultimately - to have a LOT of fun doing it all ...
