The bitcoin giveaway has been delayed a bit:

Due to concerns over scalability and security which should be fixed with major code releases in early 2015, we believe it is necesary to delay the Bitcoin Program until after we have released substantive changes to the way that stellard handles consensus on the network. Early next year, when the code is closer to release we will make additional announcements about the forthcoming whitepaper authored by Prof. David Mazières. Once the new code is tested, implemented and safe for many more users, we will begin the Bitcoin Program

1) If you have ever had the chance to see academics in action, you will know that action happens at a snails pace. Mostly for good reason. Progress is slow: or purposefully diligent for accuracy. Reputations matter more than output.

2) Security concerns? Use your own judgement on what that means.

3) Substantive code changes, which need to be tested.  Don't hold your breathe for a quick fix and restoration of market confidence.

4) Within the same update, we hear that the not for profit foundation application is still in the works. Counsel is working on the details and the actual application itself. Don't expect formal recognition in 2015, but it is possible towards the last quarter.

What is not addressed is the not-for-profit entities regulatory status. Being based in the US, the entity will get a letter notifying it that it is a money transmitter and needs to be regulated as such, either on a Federal level or State by State. See the highlighted red flags that US Regulators will see as threats requiring regulation status, which Stellar sees as core mission statements:



You can view this as being negative FUD. Funny what random people on the internet bother pointing out, stuff that retained 'Counsel' should point out.

I suggest you to use poloniex.com it is easy and rapid buy steller on it.

Yes it is, but they were hacked and a lot of stellars was stolen.

Are you sure your destination tag is correct? Have you used it before?

That's the only thing I could think of apart from logging out, deleting your browser's cache, then trying again.

You should send an amount with 40 STR less that your balance

no the reserved balance is 20 str, so if you have balance of 500 str you can't send 500 str you'll have to send 480 and then again poloniex will reserve 20 str the final balance you'll receive will be 460 to sell.

You're not nuts, same thing for me. 

I have 491 STR stuck on https://launch.stellar.org and there is nothing I can do. 

There's no send button for any amount.  I've tried four different browsers and three different computers at home and at work.  Same things no send button.  I've read everything everywhere and nothing is of help.

If anyone here has any suggestions, let me know.

STR seems great just sucks that I cannot use the wallet on the main site.
