Pretty ridiculous how they are running Stellar. Its like if my mom and her friends decided to start a digital currency. Find it hilarious that all the early people with spam accounts got a shit ton of STR for each account, while the new legitimate users are getting screwed over with such small amounts that will be distributed over weeks/months. What a shit show.

Yeah anyways the account only needs 20 stellars to operate and every tx burns like .00001 stellar so they dont need and should not continue giving like 4000 per account.. giving 4000 per account you run out of stellars with 25 million face accounts.. i mean you spend all 100 billion.

People forget that you don't need stellars to "invest" but to trade other "real" cryptos and currencies.

Stellar is up, only the price is going down due too many people dump their 3500 STR distributed in the past 2 days. When it's over, the price will go back up

It was a chaotic launch, especially after day two. They need to hire an experienced operations manager/director to lead the team and coordinate the messaging.
They've completely wasted the goodwill generated from the giveaways; they've enacted policies that favor the early abusers; they are depending on mainly old Ripple supporters to manage the forum.

I honestly thought the presence of Keith Rabois on the board would lead to the first truly professionally-managed cryptocurrency. I couldn't be more wrong.

As it is now, I am not even certain we should call Stellar a cryptocurrency.

It is a token under the absolute centralized control of a private organization. Adopters have to trust a third party to manage the distribution and network. This is entirely at odds to Satoshi's vision of a trustless, decentralized, peer-to-peer cryptocurrency.

Stellar Foundation and by extension, Stellar, is centralized, bureaucratic and authoritarian, just like the Federal Reserve. Unlike the Federal Reserve, however, there is no one empowered to audit their performance. Adopters have to trust them to make decisions on their behalf.

For all intents and purpose, in my humble opinion, Stellar is closer to Linden Dollars that it is to Bitcoin.

It's only for accounts created after 9th august, older accounts are still eligible to get 500 STR + 3500 STR distributed this week. Many of my friends have got their account credited with 3500 STR in the past 2 days
