3 hours to mine 100 coins,.. With 300mhs
5 seconds to fill a form out and get 50...

Imma fill that form out in a mo Smiley

Yep and the spacedropcoins will press the price down. So it will be hard for miners to get an ROI

Lol, more registrations for spacedrop coins (50 a time) than actual blocks mined (50 a time). Maybe drop the spacedrop amount to 5?? make it fair for everyone mining?

We have had just over 400 applicants on the Spacedrop so far. With 10000+ spaces available the miners can also get in on the action.

But do you not think your giving too much away for free, when miners are making barely any SLG and they are the ones doing the work for your coin? Spacedrop recipients are just going to dump their coins on bittrex and the coin will be worth less than it should be to pay for peoples mining time. So whats the incentive for people to mine this coin?

The coins ethos is based around circulation, use and implementation.

Please read - http://cointelegraph.com/news/112573/interview-with-sterlingcoin-developer-spencer-lievens-why-merchants-and-services-are-key-to-altcoin-survival

The 50 coins people are getting is a launchpad to get the coins into circulation and use. With exchanges, merchants and other services we are launching a functional currency, not just a trading coin for the exchanges.

I appreciate it if the coins will give away to the community but the amount is to much. Better do this in steps, use it for the tip bot on IRC or give them exchanges like poloniex for their giveaway. Miners rentet hash and 90% of the crowd will dump their bounties.

I don't see the problem in correlation to the mining difficulty, although I do understand the frustration in mining difficulty.  Everyone can get 50 coins for free.

Its an open market and if people wish to sell their coins then people will buy them.

Trade, supply & demand and an absence of manipulation with let Sterlingcoin grow organically and naturally.

I agree with the above and I love the way you guys are approaching this. It sickens me to see that 99% of the coins get created for trading and nothing more, if cryptos are to survive it needs coins like this and wow what a name!

Indeed. Look upon the spacedrop as a bonus to your mining efforts.

...

Launch is going great now and the wallet design is also sterling !

When this is live on Bittrex - I think it could well be time to diversify some Litecoin holdings ...

Do you have any timings on the launch of SLG on bittrex?

They most likely won't add coins on a sunday, so I guess tomorrow. I think they would of added Sterling yesterday if the launch went ahead.

+1, there isn't really enough coins at the moment to trade with and people might end up paying too much or too little with limited supply.

The website for the block explorer only says; "Working " instead showing that explorer.  Huh

As you can see below the blocks (in green) are spaced correctly and then difficulty (BOLD) rockets to 245 and then 578.

Well, without the corresponding net hashrate ...
 85 - 101 = 16 blocks  1h 7m diff moving from 245.2485 to 578.5844
101 - 102 = 1 block  6m diff at 578.5844
102 - 104 = 2 blocks 44m diff at 578.5844

That spike is indicating a max hashrate ~ 16 GH and the skyrocketing block times at still the same high diff show the retargeting down did not happen at that time. I saw the diff falling later to 140 for a moment before it went back to over 200 without a corresponding short drop of hashrate on the pools.

official pool:
pool hash 1.2 GH
net hash 2.5 GH  Huh

suprnova:
pool hash 5.6 GH
net hash 5.6 GH  Huh

The estimation for the next diff is far off on both pools.

At the moment the hashrate looks sort of stable around 7 GH (taken from those 2 pools) and the diff of 245 seems to roughly fit.

If this coin becomes successful and switching pools jumping in and out, you will see steady spikes in hashrate and than leaving the normal miners with high diff and endless blocktimes until the diff finally comes down again and the pools will jump in again until the diff spikes ....
DGW3 is supposed to react in those cases of hashrate spikes very fast (retarget every block) with a quick rise and even quicker fall of diff, but within a certain change limit per block.

What I am seeing here is, that the diff stays high (at the same number) far longer than it should with DGW3 and proper set numbers for this coin.

What I am seeing here is, that the diff stays high (at the same number) far longer than it should with DGW3 and proper set numbers for this coin.

http://transactions.sterlingcoin.org.uk is being built right this second and will be up shortly.

Paper wallets do work, trust us. We have tested these extensively.

Pay to receive address.

Go to console and type: importprivkey [privatekey]

Your wallet will then import the address and coins held on that address.
