My favourite part of this is a comment. "I don't believe thinking people are surprised by this. The left needs to do "group think" since they find thinking for themselves to be a function they can not perform."

This is really shocking to me. These are the people who are blaming bitcoin for prostitution, drugs, illegal money transfers, fraud, hacking etc and you can see it if you watch any left leaning news show, trust me when I say I have seen it many times and way more on the left leaning places... These people come together and get their story straight, then they all report the same thing in their daily news shows/websites/articles/newspapers. Talk about committing fraud and getting so many news organizations together on a lie that it seems like the truth because everyone is reporting it. This group is probably responsible for most of the negative things ever said about bitcoin. Remember, the people most against bitcoin are typically democrat/liberal minded, they WANT the government to control everything, ESPECIALLY MONEY. http://eagnews.org/1000-member-secretive-progressive-journalist-group-uncovered/Yeah, speaking of FUD, not all left-leaning people are against Bitcoin. That's a gross generalisation at best and a display of downright ignorance at worst. I'm extremely socially liberal and quite left wing in terms of economic views, yet I love the idea of Bitcoin. Lack of understanding and poorly researched articles about crypto come from all corners of the political spectrum, so let's not make out like this is some overly simplistic left-vs-right thing when it isn't. Ok, if you have been paying attention for the past ever, you will see that government likes to gain control of things and run things. The right side more likes to control military spending/defense and promotes private business a lot as a general rule. I haven't met anyone yet on the far right or moderate right or center right or whatever kind of the right spectrum that had any problems with bitconi because it is a private protocol someone made and thats the nature of what most of these people stand for. However, watching any left ring/left wing moderate news or reading their articles or their websites you will see they like to control many things dealing with fiscal policy. As a general rule the right side wants less regulation on banking and monetary policy in general. The left wants to control down to a pinpoint, wants new taxes, and has CONSTANTLY lobbied against Bitcoin. They still are mostly against it and there are only a few I have seen that like it(generally). All I really see is conservatives/repubs/libertarians/tea party who are in favor of it for the most part. For you to call me out on being "absolute" tells me that's how you see things, and I don't like being insulted in that regard. Anyone who is absolute about something isn't very open minded. Notice how I said "very" I leave room for error. I also wasn't absolute in what you quoted. It's hardly my fault your OP sounds like an attempt at a witch hunt, so you'll have to forgive me if I'm getting the wrong impression here. You're linking to an article which makes it sound as though there's some sort of left-wing conspiracy to manipulate the media and simultaneously saying " These are the people who are blaming bitcoin for yadda, yadda, yadda" and haven't cited any sources for the claims that these people are responsible for the FUD. All I'm saying is that there have been plenty of poorly researched articles from right wing sources like Fox or the Daily Mail which also babble on incessantly about drugs and money laundering. Similarly, I've seen plenty of articles from left leaning sources which are highly positive about cryptocurrency. Call out the FUD where you see it, by all means, but you'll have to state your case in a little more detail if you want to convince people that some shady, secretive group are out to destroy Bitcoin like the OP seems to imply they are. I will keep that in mind. I find myself being taken for being literal sometimes when I am meaning come off in a different way. I have not really seen any positive articles about bitcoin, but I have seen plenty of negative press on it and it is usually from MSNBC/CBC/ABC and all those other alphabet soup fake news organizations that just spread the same crap. Honestly I used to watch all of those and not have any issue with how they operated, but I always had a liking for FOX better. Now that I am in my mid twenties I can't stand seeing stuff on the other news places now. It really bothers me that media companies are allowed to spin their propaganda and collude like this. I am not saying that it should be illegal or anything, it just puts a bad taste in my mouth to know that our "free press" is more of a "free propaganda". By their own nature they are against bitcoin and other private institutions. Small businesses and middle sized businesses are suffering due to how the left has demonized anyone who takes a risk to make their own business, they are demonized for being "rich". They state their claims about how if you make over 250,000 a year you are a bad evil manipulative rich a-hole. The very line of work I am in requires me to keep training and learn things. I will probably have a few more certifications in SAP within the next few years and try to get a consulting job, which easily pays 100 bucks an hour or more later. I work hard for my stuff, I learn and memorize tons of data and text. So when I see these left leaning morons who get welfare all the time(my dad is a store manager at a grocery store and sees them buy steaks/beer/cigs with their EBT cards and all that bs and they brag about it loudly) I get pretty angry that it is still allowed to happen. The culture of this country is being ruined mostly by the left, they advocate being "free" and giving "women a choice" and "representing minorities". That is great and all but historically democrats were the ones in the south who wanted to keep slavery and wanted to keep people down, and the mostly republican north fought them and won. There is a reason they were called Southern Dixie Democrats and were the worst racists you ever heard of, and there are some famous quotes where they say "we will have the N****s voting for us until he end of time" from the democrat party. Planned Parent Hood founded by Margaret Sanger was a ruse to abort black babies. When you look this information up you can see her quotes on the matter and how she wanted to use Eugenics to kill minorities and wanted to create the perfect race(kinda like Nazism). MLK Jr. was a republican for a good reason, because democrats are the racist ones and everyone knew it back then. They don't know it now because of said groups like this 1,000 members plus giving the "spin" 24/7. They circle their wagons, they have their ducks in a row, they consistently lie so much it seems true and feels real. They might not be oppressing people openly, and some people might think they are doing a good thing, but when you consistently "give a man a fish" instead of "teach a man to fish" this is what our country turns into, and that is how they retain their control over minorities. They make them put their hand out to their "masters" who are the modern democrats(racists). That is what the democrat party does, they don't like bitcoin because it takes away their power, the power of the purse and the power of looking like they are a "champion of the people". Conservatives and repubs/teaparty/right leaning people basically all like bitcoin. Although there are some who are still ignorant about it and don't understand what it is or confuse it with "drugs" because of the lies, they mostly are for this type of thing, private business. I can go into a ton more detail but for now that is all I really want to say on it. There is a lot of information out there waiting for you to find it. It takes time to be knowledgeable, and takes even more time to be more knowledgeable.

Would it surprise you to learn that the following three are all bitcoiners?: Alex Holden; Brian Krebs; Adam Greenberg. https://twitter.com/writingadamhttps://twitter.com/writingadam/status/443501118782709761http://krebsonsecurity.com/2014/06/2014-the-year-extortion-went-mainstream/At least four businesses recently reported receiving “Notice of Extortion” letters in the U.S. mail. The letters say the recipient has been targeted for extortion, and threaten a range of negative publicity, vandalism and harassment unless the target agrees to pay a “tribute price” of one bitcoin (currently ~USD $561) by a specified date. According to the letter, that tribute price increases to 3 bitcoins (~$1,683) if the demand isn’t paid on time.

We call them the "Press on Crack" crowd. They not just targeting BTC but anything the "Puppet masters" wants. Money can buy so much in this world, it's scary. And there are so many people in this world, trying to hang on to their "power" positions, to keep them there.

I thought we were talking about the 1,000+ people getting together about the collusion of the press? But it is interesting information you are providing, thank you.

Most of them are supporters of the liberal agenda and will support any democrat policy and political candidate.

It almost seems like these journalists spend a lot of time networking and trying to promote themselves.

I don't believe it. Way more than 1,000 American journalists are part of some secretive progressive media cabal. It's more likely fewer than 1,000 journalists in the entire country are not part of the left wing movement to subvert the Republic. The misty-eyed, mainstream messiah media is almost universal in its love of Potentate Obama and his revenge regime.

People working together towards a common goal? Treacherous! Get over yourselves. Everyone does things like this. Is it so evil? It's the same thing as asking some fiction writers you know to help promote your new book, or asking some friends to tell their friends about a party you're throwing. I bet there are all kinds of conservative groups that do the same shit.

Since when are journalists not allowed to have political views? I'm sure the Fox News folks have political views as well. Oh wait, they're not really journalists.

Since Obama has a low approval rating, it is obvious that this group is not unduly influencing the public through media outlets. But let's pretend they implemented a Liberal bias in our media outlets anyway, eh?
