Weekly Burst Report #30

The Weekly Burst Report is a report published every Sunday meant to centralize and outline the important Burst information of the week. https://www.burstcoin.ist/2018/04/02/weekly-burst-report-30/

Which promising results and potential impacts of Burstnation on the Burst project in general, which we are waiting for?
Is there someone in here who is still active in the Burstnation forum? Relay this message from Rico666. Ty.

Its time to start moving forward. If there are differences between the PoCC and Birstnation that cannot be fixed, then the best move would be to leave Burstnation. Burstnation is a dead end.

Rico666's message for Burstnation

i think which, to let Burst to burst, sorry for the pun!!!  Grin Grin Grin, we will need a great bounty campaign to spread the world all the new ecosystem development.
i hope to hear that news soon!
The price lower than current price a few months ago. But if we are not talking about price, then burst has huge miners, check network difficulty.
And a lot of work is going on at the moment.

The price lower than current price a few months ago.

i think a parallel here is inopportune. Right now all the market is melting down. With this volatility, we can compare different periods, far months.

But if we are not talking about price, then burst has huge miners, check network difficulty.
And a lot of work is going on at the moment.

here i can see a fall of the network difficulty since the high of 26 march... but maybe is just a little pause.

Rico666's message for Burstnation

I already made a thread about Burst's updates.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2231841.0

I hope you can all join me there so that our discussions about Burst are better seen by the general altcoin community.

As for Burstnation, they love to complain but they have not done any development that matters for the project. I heard a guy called Focus made an Android wallet. But it was really nothing but an app that connects to the Burstnation webwallet lol.

In all the reading I've done it seems like Raid0 is the best for burst mining and to reformat the Raid drives when one fails. Am I missing any pitfalls here or is this what everyone is running?

Anyone mining on 0-100.burst-team.us?

Seems to be dominated by people with almost 140TB storage...

Did I help you? If yes, hit me up with some Eth!

Not 100% sure but if you pop-off more than 140 Blocks you have to sync from scratch...

Nice to see so big community of this coin. The first time I heard about this coin was MinerGate blog and they said a lot of positive things about this coin and POS algorithm. Could you please help a mining newbie, what is the simplest way to start Burst mining? Is it true, that I can connect all my HDD to the laptop and increase an efficiency of the mining? Thanks!

Yes you can connect your HDD's to your laptop as long as your laptop has an USB3.0 port. (and your HDD's should support USB3.0) too. If not, you'll get very slow read speeds and your mining efficiency will be very low.

BURST is not a POS coin btw. It is POC.(proof of capacity) NXT is a POS coin. BURST forked from NXT and changed the algo.

To start mining you need to plot your HDD's. Download qbundle software here first: https://www.burst-coin.org/download-wallet

Qbundle has everything you need. (miner, plotter, local wallet)
Rest is a bit complicated but not hard. Just follow this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJLhw37Lh_8

~
Thank you very much for your kindly words, and informative thread, mindtrust.
Would you mind explaining or giving me links/ documents to estimate mining profits for BURST, please.
I have never mined coins using my HDDs, so I need your help.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

You can calculate your profits here: https://explore.burst.cryptoguru.org/tool/calculate

Don't get terrified by the super low returns. It has been like that since February. I really don't recommend buying new HDD's unless you get them very cheap.

my wallet freeze on block 475952 i tried rollback 1000 blocks but its still same stuck
Not 100% sure but if you pop-off more than 140 Blocks you have to sync from scratch...

I use Linux and I had mine stuck on block 478,861. Luckily I had version 1.3.6CG on the same computer still on block 477,XXX. I synced that and copied the blockchain db to 2.0.4CG and its working fine now.

I hope the PoCC fixes all the quirks so they can proceed in working on PoC2 and dynamic fees.

Mining quietly at the point with low difficutly, low prices, low total hashrates is better, smarter option for miners. It will ensure high profits for your mining operations.
No need to be panic and joining to mining party with high difficulty, high prices, high total hashrates.

Do you guys think that it is a good idea to start mining now? I plan on starting with about 3 8tb seagate hard drives.

No. The cost of mining per day is high that it would be better for you to buy Bursts on the market. It will come out cheaper for you. Burst mining has become so competitive ever since the PoCC started developing the coin. The interest in it from miners has gone up by quite a lot.
