sorry for the noob question here. Do I need any additional hardware to mine this?
thanks for helping me out Smiley

Welcome! If you have a computer that is able to run the miner - you can mine. As this is a cpu-only coin, a standard cpu will be enough.

thank you so much after I install the miner app. Do i need to change some setup files? Sorry for the questions, just getting started to know more other than faucets Cheesy

It was a long time ago i mined myself but it all depends on if you are going to solo-mine or using a pool. For new people, i recommend using one of the pools listed on https://poolinfo.systms.org

Never hesitate to ask questions here! Magi community was voted for most friendly community in 2016 so its never a problem to ask questions.

Welcome to the magi community. Be aware that Magi mining gives different rewards based on the total people (combined hash rate) mining to deter big players from coming in and taking all the coins. This may make the payout frequencies look a bit random at first - but all has logic, best thing to have with Magi is patience.

Unfortunately from time to time however, we must make a call whether to keep a market or to remove it. I am afraid that there is not a single metric that we use but rather several factors that weigh in to this final decision. As much as we would like to keep the markets that we chose to list, it is inevitable that some will have to be removed at some point. I am afraid MAGI is one of these on this occasion.

How much coin can you actually get of this caliber on a cpu miner?  Just curious.  I've only ever mined with a gridseed

Depends on the total network hashrate. What kind of cpu miner do you mean?

When i was mining on my i7-3770 i could push it to ~32 kh/s over 8 threads, this would give ~2-4 xmg (for 24kh/s) per day when looking on pool stats. You need to take the block reward into account to. So that can go up and down.

Couldn't agree more with you there. I've moved all my funds from them. Since they don't even can respond to simple ticket about the delisting. They could even give me the same BS answer but haven't.
Imho - It's not worth to put more energy on Poloniex but to support those exchanges that are happy to have us Smiley

Price is slowly going in an upwards trend now Smiley

It'll happen eventually if they carry on the way they have - I had already moved 50% of my Polo capital out of the exchange after they delisted XDN in the last round. They think they are too big right now - CEX.IO did something similar a few years ago - and their usuage has really dropped.

I suspect everybody will eventually prefer using trex and cryptopia - then they will get greedy and start doing the same as Polo... In the end people will be forced to move to decentralised exchanges to stop this kind of behaviour.

Price still extremely low, still buying.
Exchanges volume back to 2 ~ 3 BTC a day, it was fun those 50+ BTC days at Polo.

It doesn't matter if you are delisted from there, just move on, forget the bad poloniex.  Grin  Bittrex and cryptopia are good exchanges, we can be there too, poloniex is not the whole life.

PS: main trading will happen in Bittrex, the second largest altcoin exchange, not bad.  Cheesy

Agree, there's no need to put in energy in polo. It's better to use that energy for the community and supporting exchanges like cryptopia and bittrex.
Any ides on how to get stuff moving?

the delist with the poloniex was a big bad news Cry

Actually, is it? We can concentrate on getting magi from awesome and wonderful to utterly beautiful and even more awesome. As i see it, we are still strong and moving upwards.
From my point of view we can now be better at spreading the volume between exchanges. It's a good thing.

From my point of view, magi will get even stronger. Smiley
