Hey, everyone,

I've been playing around with Magi the last couple of weeks or so. Bought a few coins, got PoS working and also trying to get PoW going, but there's something weird going on, I don't quite understand the rules and how they are applied;

I mined one block, got credit for it, all was good. I mined a second one and got a "proof-of-work block violation (prior PoS not seen or wait 10 mins)". Ok, so I kept mining and staking, and have staked a few times. Regardless,  all the other blocks I've mined since (not many, so it might have just been bad luck) have either thrown the same violation error, even though I had successfully staked before, or got "accepted" only to be orphaned (looking at the logs there would be a blockchain reorg right after the mined block). One time there was a "block is stale" error too.

In the end, I've mined exactly one block successfully, staked some 10 times, and every time I mine a block (has happened 5 or 6 times) I get either the violation error or no error but orphaned.

I'm running 1.4.4.1 on ubuntu using m-cpuminer-v2 for mining.

So, where are these rules described in detail? I know I have to have at least one PoS between consecutive PoW, but must the stake be complete/generated, or can/must it be immature? and is there a time limit for a PoS to be valid to allow a subsequent PoW?
The other way around, no more than 5 PoS without a PoW, right? I've staked more than 5 times and only had the one initial PoW success, so how did I do it? Is there a time span where the requirement for a PoW resets?

Or am I completely off base here? Smiley Thanks!

Price is rising slowly and looks stable. Wouldn't sell too much this point.
Volume of bittrex.com are getting lower can mean several things. Either more people buying cheap xmg now, or people moving their xmg to wallet or other exchanges.

There is a nice spread range right now. 1 BTC can drop magi to 5900 or raise magi to 6400, there is a bit more of a wall around either extreme of that though - think we'll be in that range at least for today unless there is a big shift in sentiment.

You forget about the bots on bittrex.
Nice little pump again, I love it.
At the same time sell at 6600 and buy at 5900.

Being too greedy I missed this today  Angry Had my sell orders at 6700 and above. Will it be tomorrow a pump up to 6500?

That's a wish!
But it can happen all the time see for instance 15 aug. and 13 sept.
Also we had a value of more than 30000 somewhere in Mai.
But please be very careful and patient, for now these are only pumps.
My own opinion, my first XMG was around 2 cent. Now it's around 25 cent.
I expect  (and hope) the price will once be more than $3.

I'm quite happy with the XMR price, it took a huge pump recently and is just retracing a little - the price was about 100k when I first started mining it - shame I sold so much of it back then - you could mine 1-2per week on a couple of desktops.

Need to clear the wall out of the way first - or have a large number of people (or large force) buying. Lets see =)

If there is 1000 coins in the purse, then how much will it yield (PoS) and for what period?

That's different. If you have one block of 1000 coins you can get something between 0.05 until 0.25,
dependent of the coin age. If you have smaller blocks this will be a percentage.

I mostly start staking with coins having a coin age of 4 days.
When all blocks have done staking, this takes around a day, I put staking OFF.
Then I wait 4 days before I start staking again.  (most blocks have around 4500 confirmations)
Every block of 1000 coins then gets around 0.20 XMG when it stakes.

Thats the way i like to see it. Stable raise in small waves with some downs and ups.

You can mine XMG with cpu.
When high hashrate joins in mining blockreward will drop
Check the OP (post 1) for more info

For the last week or so reward dropped significantly; I receive a few times less XMG than before with the same hashrate (pom.m-hash pool) and honestly don't understand what's actually happening.
I believe that reward stats is broken at least on that pool cuz I receive around 10 XMG per 2-3 days instead of promised 25/day. Minerclaim is even worse tho.

So what's broken now and why mining slowed down like that? Current profit is pretty dissapointing.

It's been written many times, read the forum, and you'll understand.
