As for a CUDA miner for XMG, well I suspect (no proof whatsoever) that there has been one around for ages now but nobody has published it openly. It must surely be possible, though not necessarily easy.
Well, I can sustain your suspect as one of my contacts (who I know works in a company which pays its employees to get multiple degrees) claimed to be able to port everything in "a few days" but also that "our usual contracts are just way more profitable" so hopefully its impact is small.

I have no doubt that someone knowledgeable could do just that. I would be fascinated, from a purely technical point of view you understand Wink , how such a CUDA miner would actually perform. My experiments with compiling the XMG miner included having a go at making something that might just run on a 386/486 similar to the type of (multiple) processor you get on GPU cards and Co-Processor cards. It worked. I described it once on IRC as "runs like a sloth on dope" but if you had hundreds of them it could add up.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Having been offline for a time, I have a lot of catching up to do on this thread. Two things to reply to posts on the (current) last page are that:-

1) I will be writing a comprehensive guide for XMG mining on Windows.

2) I will be releasing a new XMG mining suite for Windows in due course and this will include the option to run the miner windowless (along with a desktop icon to stop the windowless miner, which might otherwise be a bit of a problem).

I have just put together a new mining rig. We are talking AMD 9590. The speed of this CPU is staggering. The heat from this CPU is staggering. I have already overclocked it to just over 5200 MHz which gives 122 Kh/s with the XMG miner under Windows 8.1 but I can't maintain a safe core temperature at this speed even with a massive water cooler and fans running max rpm. Anybody got any liquid Nitrogen that I can play with? Cheesy

This new rig has been named "Wolf" in honor. Thanks man.

hi spexx  Smiley

you dont need nitro you can try this fans https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThsuBvPkGcc, and bench on north pole  Cheesy great performance though.

i overclocked 8320 at 5014/1.58vcore hot as hell on water and one same core always failing after hour of prime blended.

can you send me your hash non overclocked 9590 when you have time.

cheers Smiley

I have already considered taking Wolf to work, where we have a dry/chilled room at 3 to 4 degrees C Cheesy

The Pub just down the road has a nice cold cellar too Wink

I thought about posting a pic of Wolf, but there is nothing to see. It is black. The case is black. The bezel on the DVD/RW is black. The mobo is mostly black. The cooler is black. The graphics card is black. The RAM is black. The PSU is black. All the cables are black. The fans are black. Even the bloody case screws are black. The only things not black are the LEDs. I could install some black-light LEDs instead Cheesy I had to use a torch for most of the time that I was assembling it and I am not joking either. I could post up a pic of the torch.

Right now I have a problem. The mobo (ASUS Sabretooth 990FX R2.0) has a faulty network interface. I got this mobo cheap in an Amazon Warehouse Deal but it was supposed to be perfect. Only the software CD was missing - not a problem since it can be downloaded. I complained and got a refund of twenty quid - about 20 percent off what I paid. Cool. A network card will cost me six and a half quid delivered and I can use up the one PCI slot which would otherwise go unused forever. This does mean that I have to wait a few days for the card to arrive before unleashing this beast on the mining pools.

I will run a benchmark on stock 4700 MHz (w/o turbo boost) and another on 5000 MHz (equivalent to turbo boost) for comparison. It will run at 5000 all day in a warmish room.

I have downvolted a fair bit and can get it to run the XMG miner full tilt on a knife-edge in a warm room at 5083 MHz. The temperature at the heat-spreader is 42.3 degrees (measured) while the core is at 73 degrees (indicated). It's a micro-furnace. Just 0.1 degree higher at the spreader and it will stop. What amazes me is that I can push it to almost 5400 and it will boot into Windows 8.1 reliably, even when downvolted. I think I might have been lucky enough to get a particularly high quality chip here.

De-lidding your Intel eh? Good luck with that. I have seen the videos ... and winced. Use some Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra in place of the stock thermal compound and you should see a massive improvement, according to reports.

Just spent several hours to set up a new pool with 1% fee and PROP payout.
Please register at http://104.207.149.217/index.php?page=register

Test script:
./minerd  -a m7mhash -o stratum+tcp://104.207.149.217:3333 -u test.test -p x

See "Help -- Getting Started" for details. Please transfer some hash power to the pool. Also, please note I will disconnect the old free pool in one/two days. Thanks.

Big thanks for Joe's support!

I have updated the list of mining pools used by my XMG mining software package. If you are already using this software, run C:\XMGminer\Setup.bat and select "Download latest list of XMG Magi mining pools" from the drop-down menu. This will do exactly what it says on the tin. After the download has completed, select "Proceed with setup" from the drop-down menu to enter the required details to get up and running. Remember to register on XMGpool and set up your worker(s) first !!!

See you there Smiley

Add a domain for easy accessing the pool website:  xmgpool.cf
Note the script should still use the ip address. Also if the token expires while registration, you can just refill the password and pin and check the checkbox before "I agree...".

BTW, Spexx, what is the download link for your newest version? I am not sure if the one on the coinmagi.org is the newest.
