Really interesting... really interesting indeed.

Ebay is a perfect platform for integrating Bitcoin, the whole business model is based on sellers trust rating, and all new sellers will have their funds frozen for 30 days, and power sellers has absolutely no intention in scamming since there seller level is worth more than the few dollars they could get. Really ideal setup for bitcoin, hope this will be realized, it would be huge for bitcoin. (But I want to see it before I even dare hoping for bitcoin on ebay).

Cryptography is one of the few things you can truly trust.

I'm not sure if eBay can avoid Bitcoin forever. Sooner or later they are going to have to take a firm stance.

But I don't know how much they would charge for fees we all know ebay are famous for over charging.

The fee's are independent on the payment method, you get charged once per month with an invoice from Ebay.
But yes, the seller fee's on ebay is pretty high, you also pay 15% in VAT* on your sales, this will also be on your invoice.

Yep. Every day new companies accepting BTC.
I will be good if  really big companies also start accepting BTC.
Then price will raise.

Many companies they want to go discussion and told that there's a decision is going to make then ultimately they do nothing. But that's a good step that ebay want to accept bitcoin.

I suppose they will operate like an escrow service. They could already be eligible to pass the regulatory requirements to operate as an exchange too. I would tend to trust them to do it with better security than a lot of the players we have seen (and cringed at)

Not a fan of paypal, but they know how to operate! I have to give them that!

Good news indeed (if realized)

It's not enough for companies to accept bitcoin, although it is a positive sign. We need reasons for people to buy bitcoin just to use it, rather than just those of us with it spending what we already have. At the moment the hassle and risk involved means most people are better off just using CC. As someone who purchases from overseas a lot, and consistently gets screwed on the currency conversion, international transactions makes the most sense for BTC. Hopefully retailers will also start offering discounts to BTC purchases as well.

Bitcoin is the greatest form of protest there is. Vote in the only way that really counts: with your money.

And I like it this time!

The fact is these are merely rumours, rumours that have been present for a very long time. Ebay's CEO has never given definitive proof that his company is on the verge of accepting cryptocurrencies and furthermore his partnership with PP is the real stumbling block.

One issue is that PP really fits EBay's needs. I've been a long-time power seller on ebay and people do screw you over all the time. Sellers of products are at risk, which is why PP being reversible is a good thing. Bitcoin would be a nightmare with ebay in my opinion.

eBay needs to go away to leave room for legitimate marketplaces. Amazon needs to accept Bitcoin, but they said no for now...

Due to an article that BitcoinTalk didn't like that I wrote on CCN, my account is banned. Theymos refuses to reply to my request for hearing his side of the story instead of banning my account. Please sign my petition to get Theymos to unban my account. Thank you.
