Blocked also my card! Shit! Lost money with these bank-scammer!
This thread is in my watchlist! Hope to get good news!  Angry

You have an e-mail to send to a lot of people.

And my reply:

Quote
Hello,

Will you tell me specifically why you blocked the card?

What was the security reason you mention?

Why is the card status still set as "Active"?

I can't and I don't want to visit an mBank branch because I'm not even in Poland.

You can block or cancel the card if you want but you certainly can't keep money that's not yours.

That would be stealing!

So if you don't want me as client it's fine but you can't keep my money.

Please send the remaining funds to the account I gave you before:

IBAN: PLXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

BIC: WBKPPLPP

Bank: Bank Zachodni WBK SA

or reverse the transfers to the original senders.

What's the email of the Customer Ombudsman?

I'll also forward this email to Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego, to Urzad Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentow and others relevant to this case.

I expect you to give me back my stolen funds as soon as possible.

Best regards

I spammed this to a shitload of email addresses. Basically all I could find related to mBank and financial regulators in Poland.

I made up some email addresses based on these people names:

http://www.mbank.pl/en/about-us/bank-authorities/about.html

The full list is this:

Quote

Some of them hit the fence but so far most of them went through.

 Grin

You can aswell forward it to Multibank, BREBank, Commdirect etc. it wont do any good.
The person who sold you the card has the proper contacts and he is the one who can change anything and speed up proceedings.

Just noticed now that this email from mbank was a reply to another email I sent to some people @bdb.de (http://bankenverband.de) and bcc to kontakt@mbank.pl

Sorry, but thats what you get for saving a few bucks.

Look at mateo's customers. They didn't save a few bucks and look where they are now.

It's very hard to know if your seller will be there when you need him...

FFS: You aint gonna accomplish nothing by spamming childish emails to a Bank.
Get yourself a lawyer and have him contact the appropriate department or get yourself organized and then get a quote from a lawyer.

I can suggest appropriate lawyers in Warsaw, if you need one.

for a few hundreds euros? A lawyer bill would be greater than what most of mbank card's users here were scammed of, and that's why it happened.
It could be feasible if we could pool in a sort of collective clause and share a single lawyer for a single trial. And even then, I don't expect to see any money back anyway.

First of all, you will certainly get your money back, as long as there is nothing illegal about it.
Secondly, there will never be a trial, at least not one that anybody but the bank can win, their contract is just airtight and they can throw unlimited lawyers at you.
The only way is to get them to speed up the proceedings and the way its been done until now, the employees laugh about those emails in their coffee break and will certainly keep the cash alap.

There are also lawyer portals in Poland that will get you an analysis and quote for free.

On a side note, you can also hire a notary, who will go to the bank for you, which is certainly cheaper and less hassle than flying to Poland.

May be better way to go to MBANK? I am going there in October. Give them my ID and hope to get all my money from 3 Prepaid cards.

Also, dont you think, that we re not only one, who has these cards.
I think, that a lot of people in Poland have the same cards, the same problems and they can go to bank anytime and I am sure, that they did it already.
May be someone has friends there or... who can google Polish forums to find any information about that?

So I used a BTC-e to withdraw on to a podex bank card over a week ago. Funds were taken out of my account and still have not shown up on my card. By reading all this it seems like the card was blocked. What would my next step be? Anyone have a clue?

hi all, I am from Indonesia
I have sent email to kontakt@mbank.pl, and got this reply

Dear Madam,

thank you for your correspondence.

Firstly I would like to apologize for the inconvenience.
According to procedures and regulations of the bank I need to confirm that your visit in any mBank branch is necessary to solve this issue.
Because of seriousness of this problem I cannot invite you to use any other form of the contact with the bank.
Security procedures for prepaid cards demand to confrirm your data personally in one of offices all over the Poland with your identity document where you will receive all explanations.

The status of your card stays active to make it possible to unblock your card.
But without visit in our branch your card will stay blocked.

You can also cancel the card and order the repurchase of money in one of two ways if your visit in mBank office is not possible:
1. In Internet Card System establishing an account number for the return.
2. or during the contact with our HelpCentre Cards Service: 48 42 664 73 44, 48 42 678 05 05.

This line is available 24h, 7 days a week.
English speaking cosultants are available everyday between 08:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M.

You can order of the repurchase of money as transfer on any bank account (you need to have account in other Polish bank from 26 numbers) or postal order.

I hope that provided information will be helpful.

W przypadku dodatkowych pytań zapraszam do kontaktu zwrotnego lub w innej wybranej formie: <http://www.mbank.pl/o-nas/kontakt/>

Z poważaniem

WTF is an "Internet Card System"? And then the message refers to some other Polish bank account for a refund. So the un-Polish remain phucked as before it seems.

+1 on posting results

Ok. Received the same answer.

So if I understood right: I can give them any BANK ACC number in POLAND and then they will send my money back? Right?
or there is something different?

Got my money transfered to a BZ card (gave them the IBAN of the card)! Already confirmed with an withdrawal.  Grin

Looks like a bunch of childish spamming emails worked after all bernard!  Grin

And before you all ask that's all I did. Spam spam and spam the same childish emails!

I sent to mBank, Commerzbank, polish, german and european regulatory regulatory authorities.

After receiving a reply from any of them I forwarded the whole enchilada to everybody again. Rinse and repeat!
