People have had time to get their coins back. If they haven't done so, I think it's fair to compensate those who are still around and interested But just to make it clear, we won't pay out of the remaining coins (we don't own these), but out of Proof-of-Stake reward. We may or may not be able to pay everybody back, but will start doing so using from the first email we got to the last. My opinion is we will be able to pay 100% to everybody.

IMPORTANT - MINTPAL COINS UPDATE
Good morning flutters,
After near a month, the ''send back'' process is a success so far. We receive a lot of very nice comments - it's a pleasure for us.
But more than half mintpal coins have yet to be sent back, and we can now stake those remaining coins and get a solid reward. So what to do with this reward (and the next one) ?
What we propose is:
- Use any staking reward to pay back the 8.95% deduction we had to apply on each balance, starting with the first email we got and so on. We won't have enought to pay everyone's 8.95% at first, but we suspect that we will be able with future staking reward. So, each of us will get 100% of their FLTs back !
- Meanwhile, Ofeefee will split the block a lot to try to decrease PoS interest rate and secure the entire network (he will explain better for sure).
- When people will be fully reimboursed, we would send further staking reward to the bounty fund, allowing us to hire more people, developpe some projects and so.
+++++
All this is not yet ''official'', because we need first to see how much flutters the staking will reward, and too we need you guys approval. It's not our coins, so any decision have to get a general approval.
Thanks.
Sounds like a good plan to me. Many thanks again for getting the coins back from mintpal.

If you have not heard, OPAL had a trojan client released that users downloaded, which caused a loss of about 2.5 million OPAL, which is about 17% of their currency. The hacker returned 65% of this, but they still have lost out on 35%. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=778720.msg9862845#msg9862845How does this relate to FLT... It is important that only approved builds be used. Please be ever vigilant to protect yourselves from malicious actors. http://fluttercoin.us is the official site, and points to the official builds at http://github.com/ofeefee/fluttercoin/releases. A site that can be used to help detect these issues (trojans/viruses, etc.) is virustotal.com. While we are on this, I want to remind everyone, TeamFLT will never ask for your private keys, or your wallet passwords unless it's a wallet recovery issue you contacted us on. Scams abound, most of us know this, and are aware, but for those that are new, protect your coins. If you have questions ask before doing something. Lots of help around for you. --o

Worked on a little project tonight, I call it Flutterstick, I'm sure many of you can come up with a better name. If you want a little project for over the break... Ubuntu 14.04 LTS running on a USB Stick Instructions - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1URsBO6KPFljTf2TvMKh3ZzgyUcO2ZZAIBhg9H67IoNw/edit?usp=sharingActually typing this from it now, while i finish building the linux dependencies in gitian. I tested the win gitian inputs, and then the windows fluttercoin latest already, handy little tool. This lets you build your own binaries using the exact same method we use, creating identical binaries that are released. New features are released, cd to the fluttercoin directory, git pull, and then ./build-win.sh or ./build-linux.sh and off it goes producing you a brand new build that you can play with before any official releases! --o

Sure give me a challange... Now I will be up all night trying to do this just added... you will get the sync bar update from Jarrid, along with some network changes. Excludes client v0.4.5.7 and earlier (really old versions) and bumped .15 version as well as protocol 70012 which should have been done for encrypted messaging so you can easily see. -o

mebe split the drive 20gB/40gB/4gB, make 20gB=/, 40gB=/home, 4gB swap. (make swap bigger if you have more RAM) that way if you have to re-install you can do so without formatting the /home drive, preserving programs and settings, eMails, pictures ... [edit] and oh yeah - coins! i usually make root dirs @17 - 20 GB in linux, always been enough ...

I will update the mount section with your suggestions. And if you want to save coins backup that wallet or dumpwallet and print it out. Or dump priv key. I see dumpwallet and restorewallet are only in rpc console, anyone uses these that would want this under file menu?

Anyone watching explorer yesterday got to see our coin perform some amazing things. Proof of Stake was generating a lot of blocks and diff rose and adjusted as expected, in addition interest went down to around 75%, we expect to see more of this as we continue development. I feel confident that we are set to send the 8.95% that was originally held out of the MP because we were short some coins. This will be happening over the next two weeks or so, lots of family in town and Christmas right around the corner... The difference will be sent to the same address previously requested by you on the initial email communications. No need to contact us about it unless something has changed. As always a pleasure working with so many talented people. I remain humbled by the colleagues involved in Fluttercoin. Thank you for this incredible experience! --o

1) Well, could you please guess if this POS reward reducing to 75% is permanent? Will it only go down further or will it return to 100% later? 2) Is there a simple way (like using a console command, i.e. smth a newbie can do) to see a current POS yearly interest? 3) Is it possible to implement a new feature into the wallet (like it's done in HBN or CAP) where, when you click on any icon in the right bottom corner, a new window pops up with all the necessary info about POS, POW, connections, etc?

Yes we could add that, but I didn't want to overload new users with so much information. I am thinking instead of doing it that way we may just have a statistics page, or tool where it shows similar information. Rpcconsole under debug has getstaknginfo, getmininginfo, and getinfo which has all this information. I cleaned up much of this code in last update, some of the data was duplicated so now shows specifics for pow or pos type activity. On the interest side, our code lines up with hbn and cap with the dynamic interest, much of the code is nvc based. So it will fluctuate with the blocks on the network. However I think we will see further interest reduction. It could go back to 100% but this is going to get rare. Hbn has been below 100% for awhile now. This is good for inflation control. Also helps bring the pos and pow a little more in balance.
