Whatever role Guy's 100 Uno plays, let's celebrate the enthusiasm it shows. Here's the EDIT of the latest Daily Info Post (above):

" ' Frozen Uno':

Guyinanutshell, 100 Uno, until May 1, 2015, @ uUB5igPeTMUXxfAqMVQ15FidQmtomemJbL (at least to practise setting up separate wallets for equity DVC)"

@ [Guyinanutshell Wrong, me@ Guy already has a trade underway! and] TrueCryptonaire:

If you want to use Un-Ex, Step One is to become a 'Trusted Trader' by completing one trade. If ya wanna try, you post something like 'Trade 2015/001 WTB 10 Uno for .14 Btc'

Then figure out how to put the trade on the trade-tracker. (As first-timers, it's the custom that you send first.)

And I reallyreallyreallyreally hope you become DVC holders. DVC would benefit from having some more coin in circulation.

Mark

Im not clear on equity DVC, I read the blog post on it but still doesn't make sense in my head. How does it differ from DVC backed by physical silver?
Are they one in the same, one is backed by 2 oz. physical silver, and the other by the purchasing power of 2 oz. silver?

Good question, Guy!

Well, the 'marker' of a DVC's value will remain 2 oz of silver (or equivalent). But we intend over time to put other assets in the 'distributed vault.' Now, at this second, if you allow people to 'Verify' more and more ounces of silver, things get a little slippery.

However, because Uno are so very easy to check on -- are in that wallet address or not? -- then by using 'equity DV' we can both add more assets, and add a new type of asset.

We are gonna hang fire on equity DVC 'til May. Then I will probably personally put up, say, 300 Uno; and we'll issue, say, 10 DVC on them.

Dig the experimental nature of it, Guy! We've bootstrapped this project up from Day One, and have yet to have more than a glitch along the way.

At present, we have 26 ounces of silver backing just 16 ounces' worth of DVC. 'Redundancy'!

Keep asking questions.

@cragv:  I've said it, before, and I'll say it, again, great work!  Also, it seems like you've answered your own question up there.

Thanks, but it wasn't great work. It was just another way of looking at the UNO/BTC price, of all things. I've removed it because it showed nothing new, silly me!! However, I'm interested in looking for various patterns or trends in the relationship of each of UNO and BTC's various attributes, including (but not limited to): current and total coins, price relative to each other and to fiat (USD), current rate of new coins daily (and thus the cost of 'maintenance' for each coin), market volume, possibly hash rate, etc. There's a lot to look at!

I'm interested in buying 2 oz silver with UNO, I live near Detroit michigan, so you can estimate shipping costs. This is my first go at trading via un ex, so any terms that go along with trade please inform me. Ty

Guy
Welcome to UNO-EX!

I can help you with that request if you would like.  To part with my precious silver, I will require you to send 19 $UNO for me to send to you 2 oz silver.  That price includes shipping to Detroit, MI, USA.

If interested, please reply and I will PM the address to which you can send the UNO. I will provide tracking for your shipment via PM.

Given the nature of UNO-EX, as I have seniority, you will send first.

Upon completion of the transaction, we agree to provide mutual positive feedback both in this forum and on the Bitcointalk trust pages.

BC

I agree to your terms, PM sent and I will post my order on the un ex spreadsheet as well to make sure everything is on the up and up
19 UNO rec'd. Will ship AG tomorrow.

Trade complete, received 2 oz. silver today via USPS. Thank you very much B.C. Flawless transaction, will do business with again in the future

UN-EX ROCKS lol

I'm gonna put some of my UNO on freeze for the next 90 days, any info on what's needed to verify that?

*WARNING:  Separate wallets should be on a separate device, unless you really know what you are doing.  If you don't have a backup, or overwrite certain files, you could permanently lose coins by losing your private keys!!!

Welcome, Zeta. (Are you a Zeta coiner?) I think . . .

think . . .

this means more than one Unobtanium wallet on one laptop. Let's work together to clear this one up. cragv was explaining some basics of this to me just the other day.

I have both an Unobtanium and a Bitcoin wallet on my laptop.

Awesome, go BC!

I've just entered this for you on the Coretanium tab in the Trade Tracker. You (and everyone else) can list new pledges here, edit or delete your old ones, etc.

So no BTC Wallet and UNO wallet on my laptop at the same time?

No, there is a difference between wallets and addresses. Simply put: wallet is the software, addresses are where the coins are stored. Just keep one wallet per coin type on your computer.

In more detail: A 'wallet' in this context is the software for a particular coin. An address is a unique identifier on the blockchain where coins can be 'allocated' (it looks like you're storing them but you're actually just saying, "this exact UNO coin is associated with this exact UNO wallet address". You can 'spend' this coin (sending it to another address) if you have the authority to do so (the private key for that address).

To simplify things a bit, you can have as many addresses in the one wallet as you want.  For example, here is my UNO wallet with a bunch of addresses (obscured for privacy):

Also, you can have as many different coin wallets on your computer as you want (BTC, UNO, LTC, etc.). Here is an example of some wallets all installed on the same computer:

Getting to the point, it is recommended that you only keep one wallet of each coin type on your computer (ie. don't install two copies of the UNO wallet, for example). The aim here is to protect your wallet.dat file, which is where your coins are kept!

While we're talking, it's strongly recommended that you keep this encrypted, too! Start by getting your wallet software installed, then add whatever addresses you want to use (in the Collect Unobtanium tab), then click the Actions menu and click 'Encrypt Vault...':

Use a good, long password and make sure you keep a backup of that wallet.dat file, because if you lose that, you lose your coin!

If you have trouble with the NXT wallet, post here. Others did and received support to get up and running. That's what our community is all about!

Hi community.

I'm about ready to set myself up a new wallet and Mark reminded me people are still feeling the pain with the NXT wallet and various NXT issues.

So I thought I'd put down the link

[link]http://nxt.org/[/link] and mention some quirks i experience using the wallet.

Downloading the blockchain can be quite a challenge.
Personally I don't know that its any harder than the BTC QT wallet with local ADSL2 being so slothenly but it does have a habbit of stopping. It generally picks back up on its own but being an impatient type I find myself restarting the client whenever it looks like the blockchain isn't moving. Sometimes less than 4 hours usually more than overnight.

Your public key is your password. Make sure it is long and complex, do not forget it.

Once the client is updated and you are logged in you may find like me some information simply doesnt show correctly.
When this happens I go to my web browser and load localhost:7876 and view my wallet from the browser. It just seems to work better and I really don't know why. This was particularly evident when issueing and moving assets around.

Please feel free to ask any questions or pose any issues you're having.

Great to see the new faces in UNO and UN-ex.
