Hi folks just some words from me in terms of where progress stands and my general thoughts:
I know many of you have been here since inception and have patiently waited for the release of v2. I also know many of you might be new to Neos and maybe heard about it and some positive vibrations urged you to invest. Whichever the case, I'd like to express my deepest gratitude for having faith in this project. One of the differences between the development and updates during v1 compared to now as you all may have noticed, is that I'm not screencasting every bit of the way or going into too much detail as to what's been done precisely. I have my reasons for that and as I've kept it transparent throughout (as there's no other way to be) I'll share them with you.
There's a large influx of new projects popping up it seems nearly every other hour, maybe even in shorter spans of time. There are many existing projects that just may have hit a bump in the road in terms of which direction to go in to make their client stand out. The features I've put into Neos v1, and the features in v2 are something I've really worked hard at in terms of time and consideration. I've already been approached by some other projects asking me to clone Neos for them and let them release their own branded version as if it were their own. I've declined of course, because Neos is here to be different. With that being said, it's fairly simple to create a "here's what we've done" video and fool people into panic buying so that old flames can rekindle for some time on the markets, holders dump, etc. I don't release half-assed features or promises. What I mean in saying that is, if I were to show you a screencast, it wouldn't be released until it was 100% working. While that development was taking place, another project could fool you all into thinking they had that feature in the works already - you invest - they never produce. That in turn, would lessen your faith in projects like Neos, where we do deliver. I know I've gone on a bit of a rant here, but I just kinda of let my fingers dance on the keyboard while my thoughts came out through them un-scripted. If you can decipher it all, more power to you. =)
I decided to include a block explorer built into Neos, not just one that calls out to an API of an explorer hosted on server somewhere, but one that you could rely on if a site hosting an explorer was down, and also get faster results from. I've never coded an explorer before. However, that's kind of a lie now because I just did. The one issue that came into play was updating the blocks on some sort of database. sqlite - sure - however have you ever tried to do multiple writes to an sqlite db? Slow isn't the answer. So I've come up with a solution that I'm currently testing the concept. I've implemented a good portion of yak's design with the functionality and when yak wakes up the process will continue as I let him know what else is needed. There are about 5 new features that I already have the code written for, but need to be implemented properly for them to function correctly. There are a few jquery snippets that need to be inserted as well and then following that, I'll do a completely new install using the new installation process on a Linux machine, then osX, and then finally Windows (the bitch of all 3 for this project).
All of us have literally had barely any sleep at all and we're not complaining, but in sharing that with you I hope you realize just how devoted we are to a) releasing Neos in a timely fashion without sacrificing quality and b) Neos and you guys in general. I've coded and release 1 project ("coin") since I've been involved in crypto that I put my name on. The only reason Neos came to be and I crawled out of my dark hole was because I wanted to offer something unique, genuine and true throughout. I will continue to do my best in supporting everyone as well as delivering something that is as outstanding as it can possibly be. I want to thank you all again for your patience and continued faith, if it weren't for you I wouldn't even bother sitting here doing what I do.
Sincerely,
syntaks & the Neos team
i'm one of the new investors of neos and after reading this post i have to say: I'M BUYING MORE
