those poor poor early adopters of bitcoin when bitcoin didn't even have a price.... i bet they are miserable now with thousands of bitcoins.

Your out of line now YAK.
Worst fucking comparison ever, are you drunk?
Show me last time Bitcoin difficulty fluctuated almost 2000% in a few hours..
Show me ANY other successful coin with a mining difficulty that swings 2000% 5-6-7-8 times / day.
I take your reply as you guys are happy with how blockchain retargets and readjust.
Since we discussed how to aquire the MOST NEOS / day you should understand that we dont want to be poor poor early adpoters.
If we had that intention we would mine 24/7.

you do realize there are 3 algos yes? you do realize that if YOU dont think its personally worth it to mine you have choices
1) don't mine, noone is forcing you.
2) mine a different algo.

Your avoiding the actual discussion now.
And the "no mine" option would most likely go for 99% of people pretty 90+ of the time pretty soon.

seems to be only you complaining, and have been complaining from the start, yet others are happily mining away (come into irc if you would like and ask)

First, thank you RedZep for explaining. Secondly, I thought there was no raping going on in the mathematics of crypto and had no idea that the stronger participant gets the bulk of the blocks. I think I will prohibit my miners from wearing perfume at work from this day on. It's not that I care about them, I'm just jealous right now they have a bigger capon.

what he is saying is flatout lies
http://www.verters.com/mining-breakdown/neoscoin
if you scroll down you can see the breakdown of the last blocks found and the percent of each algo from the whole that found the block. as you can clearly see, the 'sha' algo is not 'raping' anything, and the 3 algos are working quite well.

I will post hashrates for different difficultys like 3 millions and 26 million later, compare yourself see if its worth mining 24/7.
Maybe 90% of SHA blocks is produced during just an hour or two during the day.
I just check difficulty, if its dropping i repoint at 12 millon or so then 20 minutes later when the dip is over and it is up at 10 millions or so i mine something else.
So do 90%+ of NEOS SHA miners atm, those that mine 24/7 are just fools waisting energy.
Mine 90% BTC/whatever and 10% NEOS (in time) each day and you make easy 2-3 times as many NEOS.
+ your buy support counteracts the constant dumping by the multipools/large rig owners with no intention on holding.
The whole 5 minute block time and 25%+ up and down goes fucking bananas each time a SHA block gets stuck at 26 million + for a few hours and it gets stuck
cause 90% of miners jump in/out.
F:ex a 10 NEOS block reward and 1 minute block time would give all algos a stable difficulty.
Now its just down to repoint your mining gear or your rental rig at the right time of the day and it will remain like that until NEOS exchange
value motivates a 200-300TH/S 24/7 steady hashrate not 10% 24/7 and 90% peak as it is at the moment.

Show us average and peak hashrates and difficulty fluctuations over the day instead. For all 3 algos would be nice.
Tomorrow i will go through 1 days block production and make a spreadsheet over generation time, difficulty, and algo.
Can you see the usual 3-4 hours jojo effect on the difficulty!?

Sometimes user like Crackfoo are kind or blockchain is just lucky and they dont push it all the way up to 20+ millions, or 30 millons.
Multipools are usually slower in/out, like Ispace f:ex check coinwars every 12 minutes.
Under 7-8 millions = mine at the moment, coinwars rate NEOS at 63.23 % of Bitcoin at 13 millions in difficulty, OK so how about 26 millions or 32 millions!?

Do you have a software that does that? I'm at work about 10 hours a day, then, before I go to sleep I like to keep reading fantasy and put all my last thoughts into writing on my porn science fiction novel. Then, during the day, I eat, I shit, and casually talk to my wife. Changing parameters to the miners more than once in a fortnight is a thing I dread as much as my old parents' impending mental diseases.

i point my miners to mining rig rentals (mark them as unavailable if you dont want to rent them out) then i switch all miners with 1 click from home or from my smartphone using their 5 pool 1 click switch setup.
There are other programs/ways to do it but this is one way.
Takes a few minutes in total daily.
Look how difficulty jojo`s you can almost predict the next swing.
Been a little unprecitable last 24 hours cause average hashrate dropped on SHA.

Can you please elaborate? What are these mining rig rentals? Please P.M. me so we won't make unnecessary advertising for services on this thread.

Aye if you want to accumulate NEOS at the moment, auto switch - multipool or manual and mine something else the rest of the time, sell it and buy NEOS!
Saffron is a good coin i hold a few long term myself.
I dont know why Yak got pissed for pointing it out i put in 0.07-0.10-ishBTC daily buy support and i do mine NEOS 10% of the day but i do feel sorry for the suckpuppets
that carry the blockchain 24/7!
Other coins go 125%-ish against BTC on coinwarz charts peaks, NEOS go 5-6-700% for 20 minutes then 50% for a few hours.

So what would be a better coin to mine and then turn into NEOS at a good rate?

Use a multipool that also mines NEOS, like Hamsterpool or Ispace.
That way you mine NEOS only 10-15% of the day when its profitable and you mine something else the rest of time you can sell and buy more NEOS for.
