As far as I know, BTCD is the primary/base currency used in SuperNET and InstandDex for transaction fees, trading etc. BBR is just a currency which can be used within SuperNET e.g. instant trading of BTCD/BBR.

How is BBR used within SuperNET (and InstantDex)?  I'm confused on how the roles of BBR and BTCD differ there.

jl777 says above BBR will be the "anon onramp and offramp" for SuperNet:

Which is I thought what BTCD was.

BTCD does lots of things (anon and reference currency, amongst others).
Once a telepod is generated in BTCD, it can only be traced back to the account that created it. Using a BBR transaction first makes it harder to figure out who that is. Similarly on the way back out of anon space when you're sending it to an account that can be traced to others.

So SuperNet uses BBR and BTCD, and InstantDex uses only BTCD?

Is BTCD always used in SuperNet operation while BBR is optional?

there is no hard and fast rules that are universal
even BTCD is optional for some things, but it is fair to say that BTCD is used for more things than BBR

InstantDEX has become trading middleware: https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=8847.msg173841#msg173841

GUI is looking pretty good too:

We have test releases that are functional, but with so many possible combinations we would need a lot more testers to verify they are all working properly

There could be sites which accept SuperNET assets. But as James already wrote it is not a coin rather a stock. There are sites like the faucet freesupernet.org where you can earn SuperNET assets.

When installing supernet for the 1st time,
the installer asked me for a location of 'nxt_db',

- and (I thought cleverly) I chose my existing ...nxt\nxt_db folder, with the 'nxt.h2.db', etc.

Was that a bad idea perhaps?

That should be fine. It just wants to know where to find the NXT blockchain.

yes, that is what I thought it would do.

Now instead (or additionally?) it is putting the 'SuperNET.h2.db' there.

Where is the play-money Pangaea demo that was supposed to be ready by "early April?"

When did it start to fall behind schedule?

Why weren't we told it was running late before missing the deadline?

How far behind schedule is it?  Days, weeks, or months?

Is Boolberry still a core coin?  I notice it was dropped from the latest update.  What's up with that?

The installer gives you the chance to use an existing blockchain rather to download the whole stuff again when it is already there.
Also, more and more people are downloading the blockchain seperately to save time.

When installing supernet for the 1st time,
the installer asked me for a location of 'nxt_db',

- and (I thought cleverly) I chose my existing ...nxt\nxt_db folder, with the 'nxt.h2.db', etc.
