Why would Satoshi keep using an old email address? It makes much more sense just to close the account.

Too risky maybe? Going back to the scene of a crime is never a good idea. Just kidding you guys. Go go bitcoins

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

This story only makes sense when I suppose that SN is dead.
Why should he give anyone a reason to think otherwise, if he wants to remain anonymous? Yes, I think you are right: Satoshi is dead. I believe that "Satoshi" was a British expat in Japan who thought it'd be a good idea to use the most common Japanese name as a pseudonym for publishing Bitcoin, back in autumn 2008. For a nicely two years he cared for the project and saw it grow, until, in late 2010, he decided that his task was fulfilled and he didn't want any more attention. His intention was to sit back and see how bitcoin would evolve. Unfortunately, in March 11 2011, the Pacific Ocean decided to glide further under Japan's shore, causing an earthquake and tsunami resulting in nearly 16k deaths — one of them being Satoshi Nakamoto. That made the early end of the world's greatest inventor's life. Rest in piece, Satoshi, we will miss you.

BS, his real name is Otomakan Ihsotas, he is a Sioux and conducted a late revenge on the United States of America because of the Native American issue.

But is possible you mixed him with Sioux, since he was not usually wearing the traditional cherokee haircut.

Man, I'm just sad all that History is gone!, I would have loved to check out all those e-mails. It was history in the making.
Did they erase the account permanently? Is there any correspondence that people got from Satoshi that could piece together Bitcoins History?

Then trod through the same sources as the author* has? http://www.bookofsatoshi.com/index/* Though considering most of it would be copy/paste of writings, I don't know how much of it can be said to be authorship.
