Do you guys think there could be something in future like Genecoin? for computing genome sequencing? That would be quite revolutionary. But genomic data is private and the computation required is enormous.

I would like to join folding coin's slack too, but seems like invitation is a must (Check the arrow pointed in the image attached).

BTW, the difficulty of folding increase exponentially, this is pretty scary..

Since May it's actually more linear than exponential.

But the difference with other cryptos is that Folders are happy of the increased difficulty as it actually means more Science done by F@H and increased hope to find cures for Cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's... Cheesy

Non-Curecoin non-FLDC folders are undoubtedly happy for the most part (a few are probably unhappy at the increased competition like some of the EVGA team), the rest of us are .... mixed.

It's a nice consolation for our reduced income though.

Yes, you're right! I really hope to see cures of those deadly diseases in near future. Folding coin is really a good practice to utilize cryptocurrency mechanism, at least it is meaningful compared to others.

CureCoin can argue that (for the SAME reasons), GridCoin somewhat (some of the BOINC projects it supports are also health-related science), otherwise very true.

Actually, it's really horrible way to utilize the cryptocurrency mechanism, but we love it because it's all we've got. Undecided

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

Yes, curecoin also did the same thing like folding coin did. And I also heard about BOINC projects but I did not know it is under GridCoin.

I don't mean to compare folding coin with these coins that you mentioned... Or maybe I should edit my message abit => "at least it is meaningful compared to most other coins."  Tongue

Actually I think CureCoin was the first crypto to reward Folding@home contributors.
FoldingCoin was released a little bit later.
But thanks to merge folding, folding can compete with mining in terms of profit and that's great for F@h!

Don't educate users on scams, just force extra pointless steps; seems like SOP for FLDC.  Roll Eyes

And what part of FLDC losing 60+% of value is "good"?

And what part of FLDC losing 60+% of value is "good"?

60% vs BTC - which has gone up a bit more than that over the last 35ish days.

In terms of $, it's been fairly close to flat.

CURE on the other hand has been close to flat vs BTC since a couple weeks after the Polo "no bloody reason" delisting.
