and my CPU usage is 100%. CPU is AMD FX-4300 Quad Core.
And I turned off, CPU folding in settings.
Is this normal?

What is ico price? and why the price is climbling significantly? Anyone can tell me? Thank you.

We had kind of an ICO of 1,000,000 FLDC early on, but it wasnt really like an ICO. Basically here was how it went down:

• these 1,000,000 FLDC where FLDC that i earned via folding, not taken from the actual FLDC distribution amounts
• We where only trying to raise 10 BTC at the time to pay for some general things like website hosting, ext
• It wasnt that popular so we discontinued doing it. though I think that 400k FLDC of that fundraiser is still stuck in an address controled by vennd.io (as they had been the ones to help us do that fundraiser) so I can follow up on that and see if some are left

So all in all, no we did not have an ICO, we had a fundraiser from FLDC i had folded, however we did call it an ICO at the time, but calling it an ICO was just a rookie mistake

There was a glitch in the automatic payout distributor system as Robert mentioned on the hangout, but payouts did go out earlier today, for both FLDC and MAGICFLDC distributions. Please check your FLDC address!

I was referring to the loyalty bonus for long term folders. The monthly payout has come through.

The folding forum is a great place for FAH folding questions, as that forum has been around 10+ years.

I can answer these quickly though just as an FYI:

You can turn off CPU folding if you dont want to fold with it. GPUs will get you more FLDC, BUT keep in mind that CPU folding is still important. See unlike altcoin mining in which everything is just in hashes, with FAH the CPU's work on small proteins, and the GPUs work on large proteins. Both proteins are extremely important to Stanfords research, but you get more reward for the GPU obviously because of the energy consumption.

So for the research side of things, I keep my CPU on, however if you dont want to overload your computer (as you already do have 4 GPUs on there) turning off the CPU is very common among GPU folders.

maybe SOG will try to find a usage of FLDC itself in the game they develop (FLDC could be more distributed Asset than the others) ?

Actually we have tried to do these type of things in the past and have learned a lot from that experience. Trying to push FLDC as a currency is very very hard and extremely time consuming. So we have decided to focus on really expanding Merged Folding use cases and helping to bring more computational power to FAH by gaining more folders.

As we have stated in the past, FLDC value and use cases must grow organically from the community. So we would love it if you (and any other community member) could pursue those kind of things as you dont even need our permission to, but the board can no longer commit resources and time trying to accomplish those tasks. The best thing that we can do is keep the project running and continue to try and expand and make it better.

The folding rewards is something that is still not automated, so I have to manually check it each month before the meeting, so we can use it for the next distribution. You can send me a message to apply for one of the following levels:

Level 1: Junior Folder 0-30 Days


Level 2: Folder 31-100 Days - 500 FLDC REWARD


Level 3: Senior Folder 101-200 Days - 1000 FLDC REWARD


Level 4: Hero Folder 201-363 Days - 5000 FLDC REWARD

Cutting the distribution down to once a month has helped the price it seems, lower sell pressure + constant or greater buy pressure = price increase.

To raise awareness about folding what if as the number of folders increased folding coin from the 100 millon reserve coins could be donated to various research wether it be cancer Alzheimer's etc we could have goals example being 10 000 folders reached 500 000 coins donated 100 000 folders 5 millon  500 000'folders 25 millon some type of tier level that would increase the number of folders and at the same time help the causes it was designed for

This is awesome, though I'm very late. Long before I heard of Bitcoin I used to know of people who use to have folding@home competition and using all of their computer's power. And it was all for free. And it had always reminded me of Bitcoin. Too bad it hasn't generated the support of a top ten coin.
