Yep. And your flavor of pride is especially volatile.

Well if it gets to the jury stage, all you need is 12 people saying: "Guilty"  Proof or no proof.

Well if it gets to the jury stage, all you need is 12 people saying: "Guilty"  Proof or no proof.

In a real court you need concrete proof. Otherwise you can pay somebody else to confess for you ... just like asking somebody else to sit an examination for you ( you need ID ).

But this has to be expected in the PKCB / People's Kangaroo Court of Bitcointalk ...

Hey I didn't convict you of anything.

I don't think you are a 'Scammer', theymos has said as much, but he doesn't want to create another tag for this case.

Actually, if you handled it different, you probably could have avoided the whole issue.

It is you being unreasonable that has got you here.

For Example:

Smart1985 mistakenly over paid for ads. If you applied those funds to another third party for those ads, you couldn't refund him because they are no longer under your control. However, they are under your control because you admitted as much.

I really don't understand why there hasn't been a compromise here. But meh... It's you business.

Edit: btw: One of the reasons I don't think you are a scammer is 'because' you admitted control over the coins.

Funny that CoinExchanger does not have a scammer tag after he admitted to receiving 12k BTC from Linode stolen coins but I have it for 25 BTC.

In your own words:

Quote
I offered him all I could but I will not refund because it defeats the point of BTC.

So it's not that you didn't like his attitude when you didn't immediately refund him, it's that you have to create an ex post facto justification for keeping the money to cover up the fact that you're a scumbag from your ego.

1) Not a "Bitcoin world" problem (if such a thing even exists), but an internet coward/douchebag problem.
2) It is made easier with Bitcoin
3) It is never okay, OP knows this but is just butthurt.

It's not OK, it is stealing and it is a crime, but since we have no cops, the best we can do is give bulanula a big sign saying "SCAMMER" which he has to wear for the rest of his life* as a warning to others.

*He actually only has to wear it until he gives the money back and then he can put this all behind him, but he's made it clear that he's not going to do that because he's just that much of an asshat.

In other news, I am investigating with my lawyer on how to go about potentially suing smart1985 for defamation of character and harassment.

I got the idea from here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=81454.msg899674#msg899674

Will keep you updated.

GOLD. I have got to see this. Please do it, I want to see the spectacular fail that will inevitably ensue.

If you are going to accuse somebody of being involved in terrorist organizations then you better have proof as that is a very serious accusation.
Anonymous people barking at other anonymous people don't need anything other than time and dedication to remaining anonymous. Once you find out someone is trying to be anonymous, just stop communicating with them.

Bitscalper could technically sue you for a whole bunch of stuff (deformation of character etc) and get much more than just 1000BTC if you made that statement without any proof.
He could not actually. Even if he was dumb enough to out himself just to make a lawsuit (which would in turn incriminate himself for numerous reasons), BitScalper is not an identity, it's an anonymous site. It is not protected by any laws afaik.
