Well That's actually not the API. Also be aware that the hash rate stats only change once per minute so any polling more than that is pointless Right, just that JSON endpoint I made it poll every 10 seconds, probably will change it to 30 seconds minimum, and user set their own polling rate in the long run. Also, do you have any plans on adding more endpoints to get info on Block Discovery and all the stats that you display on http://www.kano.is/index.php?k=pblocksUm - is there much point to polling twice as often as it updates? The hash rate even after 1hr on any pool isn't very accurate. It's simply people want to see a number, the value is pretty inaccurate. The only reason it's updated every 1 minute here is coz people connect and want to see their hash rate when they connect ... 10 minutes seems to be too long for most people to wait. In reality, the current pool settings I run, it's actually a waste of the server resources having it update it every minute. If that ever becomes a bottle neck (if the pool grew very much larger) that would be one of the things changed to slower, since it really doesn't matter. Re: pblocks - no use the API - it's already got plenty of information.

Re: pblocks - no use the API - it's already got plenty of information. Hey no problem! I understand the issue with polling the server too much especially with the increase in users. I was surprised to see you even had a 1m hash rate, most other places stick with 5. With your input I may remove the last1m hash entirely from the app and just use the 5m. Thanks for the info I'm still relatively new to the bitcoin community, and am always willing to learn more. Always appreciate the input

My other miner on Slush has been hitting tons of blocks, go figure...
I suppose when things cool down on Slush, we'll be hitting lots of blocks here!

Still, we were due for a long one I suppose....... Yep, 164% luck on the last 10 blocks (117% luck on the last 25 ) - 106% overall ... looks like the pool speed might have dipped a bit ... luck hoppers moving on. Stay on 'dig-in' mode all things will average out.

I struggle with how much of my limited hash to send here and earn me something almost daily, and how much to keep solo mining, hoping for the big 25 btc win.

No luck hopping here, but my 6T rig was renting out to WestHash earlier today. It just fully returned to this pool about an hour ago. With my current settings WH has to exceed 25% above expected BTC for my whole rig to switch over like it did today (which is very rare). I noticed the pool hash rate jumped up since I returned, so I wonder if others were doing the same and affecting the hash rate here.

Well you can now see some historical pool performance and where the hopping happened The Pool->Graph is the actual shift reward performance (like the worker shift graph) What this means is that it shows the amount of shares that were accepted per shift (again like the worker shift graph) Although we have the ckpool performance numbers that better estimate the actual miner performance, the graphs report the reward performance since that is what is used for payouts. Edit: oh and it uses the same checkbox settings for both the worker and the pool graph. So changing one changes it for both.

Yea, I've noticed about 600TH coming/going the last couple of days. So some rigs are definitely moving around. Cool, looks really good.

Hi
I'm mining at night only and 8 hours per day. My electricity cost at night is half of daytime. Can I expect I would mine 1/3 bitcoins of non stop mining on this pool?

Yes (average expected payout) Of course luck plays a major part in each single payout, but over time the reward for mining 8 hours a day would expect to average at 1/3 of mining for 24 hours a day. Edit: In more detail: your shares disappear off the reward list a bit after 500% after you submit them - which at the moment is around 153hrs it doesn't matter about stop/starting - it's simply that each share will be rewarded in each block found in the ~500% after it. The value of each share is the same for everyone when the block is found - in proportion to it's difficulty of course.

The value of each share is the same for everyone when the block is found - in proportion to it's difficulty of course. pretend the time is 144 hours for 500% not 153 hours so: in the next 6 days = 144 hours the poster gets ⅓ or 2 days or 48 hours. lets say the poster used 30th ⅓ = 10th average at the 6 day point 10th miner hash /1900th pool hash = 1 /190 so miner grabs 1/190 x 24.7btc = or about 0.13 btc if poster ran the gear 24/7 he or she gets 3x that. Of course averages aside if the pool: does a lot of blocks = yeh does very few blocks = meh does no blocks = bah
