I didn't sell you a miner as I'm not a reseller.  you participated in a group buy and I combined orders and re shipped it to you once they arrived same day.  I explained to you that I do not have anything to replace it with and for that or a refund, I'd be more than happy to support your contact to AM.  Don't try to twist what I said or to make me your scapegoat when you're pissed at bad hw.  Anyway, let's not sling stuff, we can PM.

Sounds like you are a reseller. You put in an order with AM and were their customer - AM shipped them to you. You then shipped them individually to your customers. If AM was shipping to each end customer then it would be a passthrough / agent / dropship / groupbuy / whatever you want to call it, but by collecting money and handling the goods you become a reseller.

That is unless you don't own 17dpHMYUvkgetWBnEyNL9iZu4nvjgN9kHr, then it becomes a bit more complicated.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Can anyone help me with getting these to run using a Win7 computer with the UART interface?

I don't had time to get a r-pi with Minera to run (i'm sure I can because I'm not a programmer/linux user, just very very basic linux)

Download the latest CGMiner build and install zadig. Connect the Prisma to your Windows machine and attach winusb drivers to the device.

Also, I'll be listing RPI and A10 cubies with Minera pre-installed later tonight via ASICPuppy.net.

Do you need any additional tags/code to cgminer to run correctly?  For the R-Box miners you needed the --icarus options set in cgminer for them to run correctly.

*EDIT*

I keep getting the error 'unrecognized option' when I use the tag --enable-blockerupter

Any ideas?

Bold sections are both wrong. They're for BUILDING, not running. You don't need to specify anything when running them.

Ok thanks.

I ended up putting CrazyGuy's build of Minera on a r-pi and still no hashing.  I think that minera can see the Prisma but no work is being done.  I checked both my pool and the default minera pool and they don't work either.

Maybe I have the wiring on the board wrong?  The top board is board 1 (or 0 according to the switches) switch 5 is 'off' on all boards.  I even tried minera with only board 1 plugged in a still nothing

I am still having many random problems but especially: I had a board flame out on me last night, pics will be uploaded tonight. Be careful out there.

To Chris, try enabling the debug log and hit the play button on the dashboard in minera for the log, does that give you any more insight?

To others, I get the bet XX errors with the minera lots of times, seems random at best. Tried switching from rb to am cg branches, have yet to get 2 prismas connected to one pi properly.

This hardware is absolute garbage...they must know it given the lack of replies to this thread. I hope people read up on these and order something else. I got burned on the "Tube" and this P.O.S. never again though.

Try the right uart port on 1 prisma board going directly to your Raspberry Pi, and nothing plugged in to the left port. Also try switching usb ports on the RPI

Does cgminer give off any errors? It could also be a permissions issue if minera wasn't installed properly. Running the following command should ensure that the minera user has the necessary group level for device access.

usermod -a -G dialout,plugdev,tty,www-data minera

Just tried that command and it appears to have no change / no hash

I've seen this error before and so have a few others. Restarting cgminer or rebooting the pi has fixed it for me. Also, it looks like ASICMiner checked in some updates to their cgminer branch around 5 hours ago, targeted at fixing BE detection errors. I recommend running the buildminer.sh script to rebuild the AM branch of cgminer and try again.

Sorry my updates are not more forthcoming I'm a little burnt (ha) from troubleshooting these:

So this is the back of the board that caught fire, I can see a spec of copper burned through the pcb in a tiny spot where on the opposite side is one of the burned out asics:

Here is the top side of the board, two views:

I had just fired it up from an off state, where it had previously ran for about a week now, fire started about 10 seconds in. Thank god I was there, I saw flame like a candle and was able to pull power immediately.

Just so you know it is very cold in my mining rooms right now, ~50-60F or even colder at nights. My cointerra is my most heat sensitive miner and it is running cool and stable.

Out of 8 prismas, or 32 boards:

4 have transistors that climb to 80C+ whereas all other boards exhibit 30-60C. They will sometimes still hash, but slowly, and the tube heatsink is really that much hotter because of it. Burning hot. And some of these only exhibit the problem on half of the hashing board.

8 have power down / hashing issues. Suspecting bad chips on these boards. They hash, albeit slowly and reset and generally I am blaming these boards for breaking the daisy chain and causing the others to have problems.

1 has burnt out on me now

I'm not trying to smear asicminer and have no agenda. I am disappointed with these problems. I had some plans that were in holding pattern waiting for the all clear and now they need some rewriting.

I would be happy if someone from asicminer would just offer me replacement of the bad boards. I've lost downtime but it will be more loss without any hashes. Overall this was more of a test run to see if it was worthy to order in bulk. The ones that do run, run well.
