We're very pleased to see the improved interest in the Cloak project and would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the new members of the Cloak Community - Welcome!
 
Work on 2.1.0.0 (the open source release) is progressing well. As some of you may be aware, the 2.1.0.0 release also marks our switch Cloak to a new codebase based on the current Litecoin sourcecode. As well as brining the codebase up to date, this release also brings a wealth a new features such as support for HD wallets, transaction and address indexes, reduced upload traffic, direct headers announcement (BIP 130), memory pool limiting, wallet pruning, soft forks and many more new features and improvments. 2.1.0.0 will also open the door to SegWit activation on Cloak and all the new features that brings to the table: lightning network, cross-chain transfers, confidential transaction etc. The build processes are also much improved with the new 2.1.0.0 codebase, which we feel is important for the open source release.
 
2.1.0.0 also contains a significant change to the Enigma system thanks to the introduction of Enigma Addresses. Enigma addresses are very similiar to stealth addresses and allow Enigma senders and cloakers to automatically generate dynamic, one-time addresses for use with Enigma when sending and cloaking.
 
Work is also ongoing with the Raspberry Pi implementation and mobile wallet, so keep an eye out for updates to those in the near future.

Well done team ! Looks like it's going to be a very interesting couple of months for cloak. Great news update and a buy recommendation from Cliff High!

Huge work will give a great results. Cloak will be in the top of anon coins and coinmarketcap. Waiting for the open source release.

You know what’s most surprising about that? The fact that I was holding CLOAK when it happened . I mean seriously, I never predict less stable markets like that.

After the pump when CLOAK hit 4$ it’s been going down and is currently at 3$. I’m guessing it’ll go down a little more and then begin to go back up again, so now that most of us have probably sold we can prepare to buy cheap again. Perhaps I'll be right a second time?

Dear Cloak Community,
 
We're pleased to announce the first version of the Cloak wallet for Raspberry Pi.
As many of you are aware, low-cost/low-power devices such as the Raspberry Pi will form an important part of the Cloak network and eco-system as we move forward. This is the non-graphical version requiring command line use through SSH as the RasPi version is primarily for running a minting process.
 
For those wishing to do some minting/mining of CLOAK you can now offload the process from your desktop and run the RasPi linux daemon (headless) on a Raspberry Pi2 or Pi3 running a 32-bit or 64-bit OS (both versions available, 64-bit for Pi3 only). An 8Gb Class 10 uSD Card is recommended and download/install the Jessie Lite image (no Graphical UI). You will install and run cloakcoind as a headless server (see instructions). You can even run a script in rc.local to auto load at boot time.
 


As with any CLOAK wallet you wish to mint with, it requires sending some CLOAK to your RasPi wallet
as the POS (Proof-Of-Stake) process needs some CLOAK to lend out in transactions.
The more CLOAK you have available the more minting fees you will acquire over time.
 
There are no current plans to create a graphical version for the RasPi as your personal wallet as this is better handled on your desktop. We are however looking into a thin-client for interfacing directly with the RPC interface.
