We listened to the community and found a dev for Cloak who is willing to work full-time for CloakCoin.

CURRENT STATUS OVERVIEW

CloakCoin & Bitcoin Codebase

There are multiple branches and suggestions for the Bitcoin Codebase. The most latest and updated branch is 0.17.cloak as viewable in the commits and reviewing source code. CloakCoin has to integrate to the branch 0.17 for further improvements and updates.
Additionally, the current code base (0.17.cloak) has also to be refactored and updated from Bitcoin 0.17

So far, the current code base is still not rebased by Bitcoin 0.17 and we need to perform this upgrade as the first highest priority.

The last code update included:

- resolving block hoarding mechanism by non-splitting stake txs
- changes in Sync/Pos functionality after rebase to 0.17.0.1
- refactoring of the consensus modules





ENIGMA

ENIGMA was not implemented yet and still has some issues when connecting to other nodes and syncing the blockchain.

REVIEW MILESTONE #1

In the last two weeks, the developer worked on reviewing the current status and progress of the codebase upgrade.

Working hours: 84h x $30 = $2.520



The developer will make detailed and transparent weekly reports by using developer blogs once code work will start. This is very important that all community members can track the progress of the development process / related cost and can see the results of donations regularly.


DETAILS MILESTONE #2

Original CloakCoin Codebase was based on an outdated version of Bitcoin and it will require large portions of code to be refactored and rewritten to bring a lot more stability, security, and testing capability.

Scope of work:

-Bug Fixing on the current code base and running properly (2 weeks)
    - Compile properly for the existing code base
    - Connection checking for clients
    - Clients can sync the blockchain from new or old clients
    - Check if the new client can create and validate PoS blocks
- Continue to finish the upgrade to 0.17.0.1 (6 weeks)

The developer will make detailed and transparent weekly reports by using developer blogs once code work will start.
This is very important that all community members can track the progress of the development process / related cost and can see the results of donations regularly.

I've read some on the comments in the chat and I am indeed amazed how this team has proceed in the past.

From the comments the listing to Binance has had a cost of over 1 million USD. I know this is from the team and a few investors on pockets as this is a self-funded project but really. How could the mangement been willing to put up such a huge amount of money without a facelift of the old wallet, been able to run on a raspi without troubles, problems with the blockchain (errors) in general etc.

This has to be the ultimate proof of lacking management in this project - Spending money on listings where it could be used on the product itself.

The only real vocal core-member, Yogibear, even seems to have left the project. A guy that every day helped and guided people in the community is no longer to be found. That might also be something for new people to think about.


For all who thinks of investing in Cloakcoin - Just don't.

Agree with everything you said. Yogi was the only one who was not over promising and under delivering and was the only person who was down to earth. And he seems to be gone for months with not much explanation.

Paying Binance 1 million USD while the community was constantly asking for development is totally unprofessional and amateurish. And the devs they hired over the years pretty much did nothing. And now they are asking for donations cause they can't pay the one dev who actually did some work. It doesn't get worse than this.

Although I still have some Cloak as there is no liquidity to sell, I really think that Cloak deserves to be this low and I can only be angry at myself for ignoring all the red flags in the past several years

1. Where are the so called devs Anorak & Deepend
2. Where is the community manager Yogi
3. What happened to turkish community and turkish coordinator Asertin
4. The team stated few months ago that Raizor will be contacted to see if he is willing to come back. Has this been done and what was his response
5. Can the team bring back cashman as it seems that he cloak flourished the most with him in the lead
6. When can we expect bugs of both wallet (QT & GUI) to be fixed
7. Is the new dev planing on staying or this is just another paid dev which will leave just as Chainsulting. Is it possible for the community to ask a new dev few questions regarding the quality of the code and future plans

One million dollars for a exchange listing? This is way beyond my understanding, tbh. Back in the days I heard of this amount of money, but the ICOs back then made multi-millions and they could affort to pay such a listing fee, but here is just bad money management if you ask me.

View cloakcoin as a hobby-project and you won't be disappointed.

However spending 1 million USD for an exchange-listing is kind of unrealistic. Without proof of a receipt, it is possible the money was spent on other unknown causes.

If anyone doubted this project would survive then take a close look at the activity on social channels and on their own website.

Everyone has left - And their vision, or what we should call it, will be broad to life by other projects who are able to mange their project.

The only question left is really, will we see an announcement of them leaving or will they just let it be and hope that a bullmarket will spark some life into the price on their coin.
(Probably the same strategy they used in 2015-2017)
