Hi all and happy new year!
I have an old wallet (I think is from the release) and if I try to open it with the new wallet I'm getting an
"Warning: error reading wallet.dat! All keys read correctly, but transaction data or address book entries might be missing or incorrect".

Any ideas how to solve it?

thanks

But if  "All keys read correctly, but transaction data or address book entries might be missing or incorrect" so you should not have any problem with using your coins. Do you really need so much your address book or transaction history?

Of course I don't need the transaction history and address book, but in this state I can't start the wallet: it crash.

Well I see the trolls never fail to come around no matter what holiday it is, but I've been juggling an idea in my head.. to sorta possibly bring value back to the coin since my other plan failed thanks to hashie being a scam... anyways it involves another coin swap... and thats a big headache to begin with.. let me know if u are ok with it cause it only takes about 3 weeks to complete one.. basically the idea is to lower the amount in circulation drastically leaving some for sale, everyone will still have the equal value in new coins and I was also juggling the idea of NXT version of coin2 that could be aquired through btc or coin2 purchase.. I've actually been juggling these ideas for like 4 - 5 months.. just not sure if everyone would be into this.. Also feel like this could solve the problem of the coins mintpal has hovering over everyones heads that still has their coins..

The sooner the better, coins stuck in mintpal will most likely not be refunded by the mintpal thieves. By doing a swap we can make sure they won't be able to use them. Hopefully they do not hear about the swap.

Betting on esports with crypto's and steam items has never been easier.

I was reluctant before about a swap. Yet it would be a good idea to have those mintpal coins invalid and of the blockchain. I'm for it. This is a new year! time to kick some ass!

Another swap??? I would say it will bring very bad reputation for the coin and possibly the death.
Bitcoin is being stolen so many times, do they swap each time it happens?

Do you think this is the last time you see an exchange with C2 coins goes bust?
These things will happen again and its upto the users to store their coins securely.
We shouldnt be swapping the coins everytime an exchange goes bust, instead should use our efforts and time to get the FPS game out -- which is going to be the make or break for this coin.

I respect your opinion, but think of it like this, say the FPS is finally released and the price does go up again with the current coins still on the market, then say the assholes at mintpal holding whatever amount of coins they have notices this too. So lets say we reach 1500 sats again, the assholes decide its time to cash in on the stolen coins belonging to people that were playing the market at the time or the ones that were holding them stupidly there. Not a very good scenario. This is not just a swap because coins were stolen.

This is a swap to cut mintpal out and to decrease the amount back to 25m with the remaining amount to halve, 1 half destroyed, the other half to be sold on the market.

I'm thinking a total reboot of the coin. Current holders will have their current coin totals divided by 5 to compensate for the decreased total.
It could attract new interest, we already have alot being worked on, and with new interest could bring new people wanting to help us.
I plan on spending the majority of the profits from the left over coin sale on the sell wall side of things to bring prices back up and cementing it in place with the remainder placed on the buy wall side. That way for anyone that feels they dont want to keep holding you can get out.

This is the best I've come up with so far to get things back rolling. If anyone has a better idea feel free to speak but it can't be continue how things are now and finish the fps.. im only one damn person.

we do not take responbilities while someone coins was stolen by an exchange, and i don`t care if the theive selling it when the price is higher, ppl have to learn to take their own risk if they decide to let exchange holding their money.

by the way,fyi..i had about 30k C2 when mintpal crisis was happening, however C2 was able to withdrawl when mintpal apply their form to let ppl withdrawal their altcoins ,so i don`t think there were ppl losing their C2 in mintpal. I myself loss about 0.4X btc in mintpal and to be honest if i have the choice,i'd rather loss those 30k C2 instead of my 0.4x btc there.

If the mintpal scammers really care about their C2 stash, there is nothing stopping them from becoming part of the new swap plan.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=841741.0;all Are you saying about something similar?
