There must be some sort of pricing threshold that Equihash crosses where it becomes profitable to start up AWS instances. Like 50% of the hashrate that just magic'd out of thin air on Equihash didn't come from any of the other algorithms.

Or someone made a breakthrough with miner development.

About those amd numbers, they are real. I have been in selling mode for months but if I wanted to buy new toys, fury for $269 would be my choice.

The etherueum difficulty is decreasing rapidly. Miners move from ethereum to zcash as the price rise.

Mining only matters to miners. The only connection between mining and the recent surge in price and volume
is the end of the slow start, meaning there is one fewer variable for investors to worry about.

Whether the surge is real or just a pump, to be followed by a dump, remains to be seen.

5% wasn't enough to make up for the 50% increase in Equihash difficulty, it's not nearly at what it was earlier today currently though.

zcash diff isn't stable once again it's returned to the previous level 800k, it was not certainly because of etheruem

probably many miners from different coins jumped in

The nethashrate of LBRY is very low now. You make more than $2 a card@310mhash. Bether than zcash and ethereum

Sp-mod privivate #4 is recomended for maxwell and 1060 cards

I heard they are dumping bonds in the east...it could be related. Maybe their buying BTC with them. So it could go much higher .. but then again it could be one big pump. Time will tell.

EDIT: I'm unable to connect to port 4133 yiimp for J.

Equihash is different from the other hashing algos. The limit depends on the algorithm. It's a bit like sorting numbers. You have bubble sort, mergesort, quick sort, radix sort etc etc. Each algorithm has it's own limitations. The maximum speed is unknown. There is no known limit.

I wrote this a month ago and I was right. Smiley

the freeminer(which is not the one from 2014 but another recent cuda revisit with cuda 8.0) is giving me roughly 600 hash with a 1070, there is something better out there?

been having  lot of crashing on one GPU recently (micron memory), while the other is just fine (samsung memory). seems to trigger when nicehashminer changes algos, and/or as a result of LBRY or L2r2 mining.

i see theres a new vbios that promises improvement, and reviews indicate that while the samsung can OC 800MHz or more, the micron can cause issues at OC levels half that

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!

This is why people shouldn't report OCs when talking about algo performance. That's a pretty good OC almost no one else is going to get. Stock settings are much more informative.
