Decentralization continued, really??.  Sorry Bitmain, while you guys have provided lots of good product to consumers the decentralization train left the station some time ago.

Why does everyone quote ck like he is a God? He's just one person, like everyone else. He has no additional knowledge of the market, like everyone else.

Simple reason, he wrote the truth.
Not a single mining hardware now available to ROI for the home miners.
Without them the blockchain is somewhat centralised.
This is not a complaint since everyone looks for profit, so the hardware manufacturers too.

How would one go about setting this up aside from them being connected to a USB Hub?  I dont have 60 free outlets laying around and i doubt i could attach 24 of them to a 1200 Watt PSU.

How would one go about setting this up aside from them being connected to a USB Hub?  I dont have 60 free outlets laying around and i doubt i could attach 24 of them to a 1200 Watt PSU. 

You wouldn't, they're not designed with mass mining in mind.

That doesn't even sound like a plausible reason. How the hell did the paste get here originally? Someone smuggle it in?
Or maybe it's financial? Customs does some stupid stuff but why would customs give a shit about a cable?
They don't! but whatever excuse they want to give ...

Very cool design.  Unfortunately I can't afford 60 of them so I'll keep an eye out for group buys of these.

Also keeping a look out for a group buy. 
I could order the 60 since I have enough BTC, but I don't need 60 and I'm not able to manage a group buy at the moment.

He isn't God. He is just right as Flying Hellfish and klondike_bar say. If you disagree then why not put up a case to rivals his? Unfortunately the numbers don't square and anyone who is looking forward understands this game of small mining is dead for profit motives.

Do you have any evidence to support some other conclusion? If you do then please share that with the community.

Now having said that. Maybe units with other purposes beyond mining or dual purpose and mining might be the way to decentralize mining this bee hive looking unit is a step in that direction.

This is the right way of thinking about this... but not a rice cooker. Think consumer electronics that require being on all the time. Wallets like the Trezor possibly or maybe storage NAS systems.

Not that I disagree, but to point out, these little systems are great for anyone dipping their toes in mining. I got my start using USB miners when they were already outdated. I was making a couple bucks a day on them. But that was the idea. It was meant to be a loss I could handle if it did not work out. The idea was to build a real industrial mine. That should be ANYONE's goal in mining. Anyone with the expectation that they will be able to mine a fortune from their basement is deluded. Also it is part of Satoshi's original vision as well.

That being said, these devices can scale up quite nicely in power/performance. Having huge banks of these deployed in the right kind of setup can yield some nice coin. Also space saving. Consider that 7 of these roughly make up what an S3 would yield in power.

And with the right kind of power setup PDU, surge protectors, etc....one could mass mine. That being said the management of these things would be a nightmare. But for a proof of concept mining operation they would be perfect again for those dipping their toes in the water. Just gotta have the expectation that not much if any money will come of it.

You can put 3 on each PCIE cable,maybe 4,let's see 4 x 70 watts=280 watts.Cutting it close,but with the proper AWG & higher end connectors..........maybe

That being said, well done Bitmain, while I might not always agree with your prices you are constantly pushing out new hardware to cater for all type of miners from the noob, to hobbyist to the pro's... keep it up!

BITMAIN you should make Ant C1 blade in GPU card style with USB interface. Small size are easy to ship, USB interface make it highly scalable, and 500Gh means something.
