What problems do you have with it?  I'm still new with it I do have the second version with wire.
So far good lotto machine.  That is my plan with it.

The units tend to just stop hashing for no reason; sometimes they just roll from from different USB ports which can take a few hours to a couple of days to stop. They seem to work best if they are the only USB hashing device, once you connect 2 to the same PC, one will go ZOMBIE sooner or later.

Long story short, I'm sorry that I purchased 3 of these things.

What OS are you using?  Is it a certain timeframe where  you could run batch file to just restart it?

I've ran it on Windows 7 Pro 32 and 64 bit. I know others are having issues that run it on a Rasperry PI. Someone a few posts back did something with resetting the USB ports and restarting CG Miner.

Hi guys,

I need your help; I'm not sure my U3 is dead or not.

I already have 4 U3 running fine on a raspberry with a powered usb hub; I have decided to buy another one.

I kept having errors, so I decided to run the last one alone, on the Pi and on my windoz pc. I have the same issue.

Here is a screenshot of the errors :

Here is the code version :

I think the PSU makes a big difference as well. There is some quality variability on the PSUs sent from Bitmain, but I've noticed that the units I have running with their PSU zombie out much more often than the units I have running off of an ATX breakout board and corsair PSU. I like the idea of a script that disables and re-enables the USB port.

What problems do you have with it?

Read this thread from the beginning, I pick up in there somewhere around the middle I think.  It always starts out roses. Smiley

What power supply is recommended over the one that shipped with these units?

I've had pretty good luck with one so far.  I have had it running for two day's.   I have ordered more it might change once I add more.

Don't know if it makes a difference but I do specify the device when I run it.  This is partially since 3 different small miners on a windows box.  Some will be moving to raspberry pi in a day hopefully.

I had one for a couple days and ordered 2 more, I should have waited (and you should have, too).  Lips sealed

Soon the zombies will come.

Well I did have a zombie after about 2.5 day's or so.   Once I get the computer it's on just running only U3's I think I might be able to write a batch file to just restart it every X often (and I hope that will fix it).

Antminer U3: Decentralization continued

Only Available at bitmaintech.com

Published on October 18th, 2014,

I am using 10 Antminer U3's in Tandem, with a MAC, using cgminer for mac, got my Antminer U3 from..http://www.markettwister.com/products/antminer-u3-65gh-s-asic-bitcoin-miner

and got my cgminer from a site by googling keywords, mac and cgminer.

Currently it rolls out around USD 4/ day...it came with a power supply which is 1W and I just needed to plugin a power cable into the supply.

The average hash is around 54/G/hs per Antminer....I love it..

Bitmain are committed to furthering the decentralization of the bitcoin network and providing quality products to consumers. In light of this, Bitmain is proud to announce its latest miner, the U3 USB miner.

The U3 utilises 4 of Bitmain’s latest generation BM1382 chips in high quality, domed case.

Batch 1 will go on sale on Oct. 18th Beijing (UTC +8 Time Zone). The 1st Batch of U3s are priced at 56 USD per unit (excluding shipping), with dispatch estimated Nov. 5th. A minimum order quantity of 60 is required, each extra units added must be the integral multiples of 20.

Specifications:

* Hash Rate: 63 GH/s at 0.75V Max Hash Rate: 63GH/s
* Power Efficiency: 0.8 Watt/GH/s on wall at 0.75V
* Voltage: DC 12V input, 6A
* Chip Quantity per unit: 4
* One 80mm fan
* Noise: ~25 DB at 25 °C ambient temperature
* Hashrate and VDD core voltage can be adjusted via cgminer command line
* USB connection
* 12V AC/DC power brick of 6A 16A, but power line not included
* Certificate Compliance: FCC/CE

Note:

1)   Power consumption: Quoted figures depend on your PSUs efficiency, the ambient temperature and the accuracy of the power meter.
2)   PSU: You must provide your own ATX PSU with 1 PCI-e connector, or a power line.

Features:

Scalable: Multiple U3 miners can be maintained by one controller running cgminer due to its USB port.

Hassle free: Setup consists of plugging in the USB and power cables and running Antminer CGMiner.

Cool: U3s remain cool and quiet due to its 80mm fan which quietly exhausts air out the side of the case.

Stable and Accurate: Based on the tried and tested BM1382 chip, the U3 is extremely stable and is able to run 24 hours a day without problems.

Exquisite: The refined design of the U3 allow it to blend on any desk or shelf without standing out.

Your quoting was broken so we couldn't tell what part was simply a bitmain quote or if you had anything to say.

Yes, it's the gekkoscience compac, get them while they're hot: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1126705.0

Best usb miner available right now, and you're supporting our "local" community.  Unlike the U3, these work!

They're not as good a deal at the price point, but I'll second Mikestang. I got two of them a few days and they've been hashing away happily.

They are both in what I consider the fun section of mining.  I'm not sure price per power, or roi really come into play in this section.

It is one that you do for the fun of it.  I am doing lotto even though I know I will not win chances are.

The fact that they are not stable and zombie for no apparent reason.  Look back at the last 3 to 5 pages, I have written on almost every one.  Sometimes a unit will run for a week without issues and then that same unit will need to be restarted numerous times in the same day as it rolls through USB ports.  These devices are pure crap!  I've tried the version of CG Miner that is available on Bitmain's page as well as 4.9.0 and 4.9.2; all versions aren't stable once you have multiple U3's on the same computer.  Even now, I have all 3 running on separate computers and still had to restart one this morning and another at lunch time.
