Quick update: We have a new block explorer up for EventToken, this change has also been reflected in the OP http://event.bloxchain.com/In time we will enhance the explorer, for now it was urgent to get one up in order to prevent Bittrex from de-listing EventToken. Good work! Are you planning to work on the original plan as far as using the 'event' token at real world events, or are you just concentrating on getting the chain healthy? Was the patent real?

I am in the middle of a move at the moment, but I want to give a brief summary of the takeover. In summary, SouthernBTC was able to get ahold of Dean (studio1one) and refer him to me for discussion re: the takeover. Dean unfortunately had a run of bad luck, and could no longer afford to fund this project. The patent application was real, yes, however Dean will be providing documentation absolving him of the right to uphold the patent over us should the application be accepted. I received from him control over the GitHub, Twitter, EventToken account here on this forum, eventtokencrypto@gmail.com account, what was left of the premine (282264 EVENT) and the website event-hub.co. This control is now shared between SouthernBTC, KimmyF, and myself. KimmyF helped get our interim block explorer up and running and is also hosting a node to keep the blockchain healthy. Several others have stepped forward and volunteered to continue to run a node. The three of us thought that this project deserved further pursuit as it really is a brilliant concept with real world significance. The three of us, however, are not capable of building what was intended for this project ourselves. And unfortunately, Dean has not yet been able to secure the XCP fork work that we had seen in the screenshots he posted in IRC. He has said that he will continue to try and retrieve this work from the person who holds it for us. So at this juncture I would say that we are simply working to keep the blockchain alive and healthy and we invite anyone to join our Slack team who has the connections, insight, skills, motivation, etc. to make what was intended for this project, or something like it, become a reality. Send one of us a PM here with your email address. When I have some time near the end of the week when I am done with my move I can make a proper update to the OP and provide any more details I might have. If you are trying to connect to the network, please refer to the nodes we've posted in this thread and know that you may have to delete everything but the wallet.dat and the .conf file and start the sync from scratch in order to get on the proper chain.

Good update! Maybe contact SuperNET team for help, they have over 400 in their slack community, including many developers. From what I've read the basic idea of using eventtoken ecosystem to make cash handling at real life events cashless was very promising.

@boomboom Great suggestion to look in supernet slack; Infinitechaos, KimmyF, and myself are already community members there.
@rahmad2nd ATM we are waiting for more information from Dean, most importantly the XCP fork which was being worked on.
We believe Dean's concept has great potential, event ticketing only scratches the surface of what EventHub will be able to do. Eventtoken is a perfect example of how blockchain technology is applicable in real use cases. We have been looking through the Eventtoken email account and I can assure everyone here that Dean was legitimately working to make this idea a reality. The email account is filled with outgoing emails to festival planners, concert promoters, etc. It is unfortunate that Dean has fallen on hard times which have prevented him from continuing on with this project.
While I don't particularly like how Dean bowed out, his silence is what I'm referring to, I do sympathize as I have been where he is before. When your family's well-being is at stake, every other thing in your life ceases to exist. I am grateful that Dean has stepped up and is doing everything he can to facilitate this takeover.
Infinitechaos is currently the lead on this project right now and is in the middle of moving his family across the country. Once he is finished with that, we as a team will be able to further discuss how to advance with this project. We are open to all suggestions!
I also would like to say right now, this project may not advance as quickly as many of you would like. For now we are mainly waiting for the fork as I mentioned before. Dean had hired an outside team to work on the fork and eventhub for him and we are waiting for them to turn the work over to him which will then be transferred over to us. We fully intend to do our best to bring eventtoken and eventhub to fruition in the form of a real world business. Our goal is not to create another pump and dump coin. We are only here because we believe in the strength of this idea.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and everyone is welcome to join our slack channel. It isn't that busy in there right now but hopefully that will change in the near future.

I made a proper update to the OP today.
You will see that I've added a list of nodes, the address at which the premine is located, a link to the Bittrex market, and an update on where we currently stand.
I removed the mining pools and Dean's POD certification.
I plan to wait until the end of this week to hear back from Dean about retrieving the XCP fork. If I don't hear from him by Friday, it's time to pursue plan B.
If you have insight or input to offer, or just want to watch us figure this out, please PM me for an invite to Slack.
Thanks for your ongoing support, everyone!

Nothing major to share quite yet.
We have some ideas we are considering and contacts to whom we are reaching out.
StudioProject left us with absolutely zero tech that can sustain the intended functionality of this coin, so it is going to take some time to find the right people, funding, etc. to get us to where we want to go, but we are here doing our best!

Hello everyone, I've been pretty busy lately with non-crypto life but I did have a chance this week to make a proper pitch to the Blocknet, essentially proposing that they might consider taking over development of the EventToken project and integrate it with the Blocknet. If this proves to be a fruitful avenue to finding development resources that can manifest this application of blockchain technology to event ticketing and finances, I think EventToken could potentially serve to be one of the most viable resources available through the Blocknet, a cross-chain communication protocol/platform that is making some interesting moves in this space right now. You can follow the conversation re: this proposal at the Blocknet's Public Meeting ConceptBoard: https://conceptboard.com/board/df5k-3bu1-7hfa-i6uz-k865For more information on the Blocknet: http://blocknet.co/DonShoshan has also gratefully shared this information with the CCC - CryptoCurrency Collector Club - on Facebook. ~infinitechaos
