Could someone explain to those of us who are not miners and programmers - just simple human beings - how to get the wallet going in Windows.

Open the Cataloniacoin wallet and close it.
Now create a cataloniacoin.conf file it and save it to --> %appdata% (Roaming on Windows) or Library/Application Support/Cataloniacoin (Mac)
Add that on it:

This nodes are working perfectly so check your Internet connection, maybe that's the problem.

The catalonia query was finally a democracy party with great success!

YES-YES won with the 80'7% of the votes… it's really clear that people from Catalonia want a change. Everyone had the opportunity to vote. Let's work on an alternative for their socio-economical future like CataloniaCoin.

Devs agreed with the right to decide. And as they said on the topic they're working with some shops to implement CATc (explained on the whitepaper too if you've read it)

CataloniaCoin is a currency that can be minted by anyone, anywhere and anytime. After the IPO-Stage (ends today at 23:59:59) anyone can start mining the coin (Scrypt-N algorithm). After that, we're going to start working on the new algorithm change. We're going to implement X11 PoW+PoS hybrid algorithm to the coin.

+Anonimity +Minign Time +PoS

Some Bitcointalk members were testing aspects like the security.
In a PoS/PoW hybrid there is no way to predict or control whether or not the next block will be PoS or PoW and therefore you cannot guarantee you will be in control of a long stream of blocks unless you have 51% of the PoW and PoS power, ensured every time with the mining-process. If you don't know the next block verification, this is a security plus
