Wow it shows my donation receiving payments as 'mined' in the wallet. Amazing!

The list of mods is almost done. Expect an announcement tomorrow of a target date (block) when the changes will be come active. The announcement will be put here as well as in the OP. This will be a hard fork!
Likely date: middle of next week. Main changes: - Coinbase split becomes default behaviour
- Multi-algo wallet
- Revised difficulty calculations
- Existing pools will be replaced by multiple p2pools
- New wallets and p2pool software will be made available on github
- SMLY Android wallet needs to be (temporarily) replaced by the coinomi wallet

If you are feeling adventurous: The new wallet can be obtained with git clone https://github.com/tutor-web/smileyCoinFeel free to try this out and please let us know of any problems. Make sure that you have taken a backup of your wallet.dat file first!

If you are setting up the new SMLY wallet on a Linux machine and have an old .smileycoin directory then it may be best to rebuild the databases:
First stop the server and then move the .smileycoin directory to a backup and copy back only the wallet.dat and smileycoin.conf files:
mv .smileycoin .smileycoin-bak mkdir .smileycoin cp .smileycoin-bak/wallet.dat .smileycoin cp .smileycoin-bak/smileycoin.conf .smileycoin After you have compiled the new server, start it as usual and it will rebuild the entire database.

We have a fork!!
Everything seems to work as expected. Updated wallets should be fine.
ToDo: chainz has not been upgraded yet. Android wallets have not been upgraded yet either, but the next release of coinomi will be up to date. smly mining at hashlink is similarly down. We'll send out some (interim) pool information tomorrow.

Can you explain? We have been around as Smileycoin since 2014 and I believe we are the only cryptocurrency with that name... The only "smilecoin" I can find is this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1754837.0and it was cancelled...

If you are watching this thread, you will have picked up the new wallet. If you are interested in mining, it is indeed quite possible using solo mining from within the wallet: no additional mining software is needed. Please be warned: While it is indeed very easy to mine at the moment, keep in mind that at these low difficulties, dozens of blocks can be generated every minute until the difficulty finally goes up. This also implies that it is very easy to make short-term forks of the blockchain and you have no guarantee that the blocks you mine will become mature/confirmed. You may want to comment out (use #) all addnode lines from your smileycoin.conf file and just use connect=130.208.71.203 while you are trying out the mining options in the wallet. We don't recommend this right now but please let us know if you find problems -- particularly if you find solutions!

OK, we now know of a few bugs in the release. Correcting one of them corresponds to a hard fork.
The hard fork is needed since a target block time change crept in with the incorporation of the multiple algorithms and we need to get this back to where it should be. That will cause a change in the difficulty calculations, which will cause a hard fork. This can not be avoided, sorry!
The second main correction is a bug which caused wallets to freeze up and no longer correct itself back to the main chain. This is just a bug fix.
In a second or two you will find version 2.1.0 on github. Feel free to install this. The change in difficulty calculations will be at block 222000, which should occur during the weekend.
We recommend that you wait until Monday (Jul 23) to do this update, at which time it will have been run through a few days of testing.

Is the wallet on NovaExchange updated? Not yet. There will be a hard fork during the weekend. They will reopen after the fork if everything works as planned. This gives us a chance to respond if anything comes up during the fork. Yeah, we should have done this earlier ...

We are back up:
Download the Linux wallet source or MacOSX wallet from the usual place. Windows wallet should appear tomorrow. Make sure you are up to version 2.1.1
Android: Coinomi folks are working on their end.
Coin explorer: chainz is back up.
We've asked novaexchange and cryptopia to reopen.

We need a few more people mining.
Mining is easily done from within the wallet still. It will even run on a Raspberry Pi.
Linux, typical commands to start mining: ~/smileyCoin/src/smileycoind -algo=skein --server& ~/smileyCoin/src/smileycoind setgenerate true 1
(if you drop the "1", it will use all cores on your machine -- you may or may not be happy with that).
Instead of "skein" you can choose between groestl, scrypt, sha256d and qubit
If you want a short shell script to loop through the algorithms, let me know. If nothing else, it's fun to do :-)

Hi, can you please update windows binary too... Thanks
It should come in later today or this evening. Once installed, things should continue from where you were before. Remember: Always back up your wallet.dat file before installing a new version.

The Windows binary should be in the right place now. Some browsers seem to have a problem with the github download URLs. Let us know if you see problems (you may need to switch browsers for the download).

I don't know why this is happening only with SmileyCoin, I have not tried to mine with a solo miner.
We have been mining through the wallet with the instructions gstefans posted above on all the algos. You could try if that works.
