I think you can add "available" (pgp signature) to Tomatocage  , because he provides his public PGP KEY :

Added PGP_Sign. See sig.
The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

But how will you rank the big five? Your opinion may be different to others on that. I think some scoring system should be put in place. Maybe you could have a handful of users who are trusted to vote or decide the criteria for inclusion.

I will rank them as I would if I was searching for an escrow provider (who has researched prior escrows). Of course everyone can let me know their thoughts and if they provide sufficient details and reasons as to why a certain escrow should be in the big 5 then I will move them.

The big 5 are the ones that are easily reachable, have done countless smooth trades and are very professional in their business.

Without some sort of fair ranking this list is just another list of escrows but ranked in your opinion so not worth much to everyone else.

I understand the idea that someone trusted by DefaultTrust, trusted by the public may not always be as trustworthy as claimed to be

But by making this post, you are claiming that you know who is more trustworthy better than DefaultTrust, better than the public ?

If you want to make an ordered list, use a publicly verifiable algorithm which could be critiqued like : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276897.0
Or, just leave it unordered, don't call your favourite escrows "the big five".

Exactly. Some system should be put in place here. What are the criteria for inclusion? Your opinion? I think if this is going to be a valid and reliable list some sort of criteria needs to be stated and met.

They aren't my 'favourite escrows', but the escrows that have established themselves and proven to be trustworthy.

...In your opinion. At the moment this is just marcotheminer's favourite escrow list. I'm all for an updated escrow list as the others really aren't, but it can be dangerous when people are put on it or unfair when others are left off.

I still conduct some research to make sure I don't add any random escrow.

Let me know who I've left off and will add them in.

That's why I think some sort of voting system or a points based based on some criteria should be implemented to make it secure, though obviously it will be hard to think up of a fair system and could be open to manipulation. I think if you had a panel of trusted users to 'vet' the process that could work. Points based on rank, feedback, reputation and number of escrows done could also be looked at to asign a score.

I've gotten a number of private contracts, that I'm sure they want to keep private. With no way for the public to verify, how do I account for the number of escrows? (And sometimes, they don't leave feedback anywhere.)

In fact, with the exception of alt-coin IPOs/ ICOs, almost all my contracts are private.

We can actually see your trust rating but allow the thread anchor to do his research proper and give us the best.

I'd like to be added to the escrow list. My thread is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=881921.0

Working on getting a few escrows with vouches in, but I also have a long history of transactions on BTCTalk and not a single negative feedback left Smiley
