I'm still confused. Gox didn't buy shit, that wall was way up ahead.

If USD/BTC drops down to $12.94, mtgox will happily "buy" bitcoins for $12.94 and sell them for Eur. The wall reflected on the USD market at $12.94 is the same wall over at EUR.

Oh I see. We are talking about different walls. I was talking about the drop near 11.00 on the EU market. There was an almost identical wall drop at $14.00 on the US market.

However I did not know that Gox would do that. Still learned something. Thanks.

All orders are converted with a 2.5% fee. Current USD/EUR exchange rate is 1,3107, so 10€ would be 13,1075$. But 13,1075 + 2,5% = 13,4352$ = is where your 10 EUR ask would appear on the USD book.

I wanna get my hopes up, but am prepared for the likely panic dump.

Dumper: "What?! The price is about $13.50! I CAN'T HAVE THAT!"
Butler: "Why not sir?"
Dumper: "Because if the price goes above $13.50...then...I. I. Ummm..."
Butler: "I'll prepare the dump, sir."
Dumper: "Muw-ahahhaa"

The US market experienced an almost identical wall drop just now. I tried to get a pic of it but the page refreshed before I could get both.

This all seems highly suspect. Possible bull trap?

Orders on MtGox are placed on all currency books after adjusting for currency conversion and fees.
