Make sense. Like ETH and ETC for example.
But who is going to be developing and maintaining the old chain?
I can't tell for other users but I will most likely stop running the old client so support the network and switch to a new one.

For the old chain just let's see what happens.
If it can grow to 100+ nodes on average it might be worth seeking updates.
Otherwise it has worked thus far, let's see how far it can keep going.

Lol, I am not developing the project, they simply asked me to get them a good up to date vanilla PoW codebase. I'd rather not link the two projects anymore, there are fundamental differences that cannot be resolved. the code for TALK is about 80% done and i hope to get it done by monday. testing during the week.

When i'm feeling tired i have been researching stuff... i may have come up with a method for P2P end to end encrypted messaging. my next step is to see if this patch can be made to be operable between different blockchains, ie send an encrypted message to any user on any chain that has the code.

Very good that we have a real developer working in our coin (I tried to make some corrections in the wallet but I got stuck in some points, but I'm not a developer, just a curious one).

On the points proposed by Blockchain Mechanic:

I think cutting a zero now would not be ideal, as George5 said, we have very few coins in circulation, at the current price less than 1 btc would buy the entire amount outstanding.

I also have caveats about increasing the reward, investors will initially buy, but will immediately sell the reward, the higher and faster this reward the higher will be the selling pressure on the price.

About Poloniex, do you think it would be possible for them to make their wallet available so we could do some airdrop, bounty for some tasks and maybe fund development?

the encrypted p2p chat is really great feature, can increase interest by talk.

anyway it is very good to see that after so much time we are moving forward here.

Basic Wallet is now in testing ! The encrypted chat is still some time away (started coding that yesterday).

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I think the final decision will likely be to not remove the zero and continue as is. The one thing i'd ask of the community is that after the new chain kicks in, let's get it listed on even more exchanges.

As for the exchange listing, that might be a bit challenging at first because the community is too tiny right now and needs to grow so that its members got enough voices when applying for exchange listings.

To streamline the process, make further updates simple and also to introduce new features , i am doing a 1:1 blockchain swap. To facilitate the swap, a snapshot of all balances on the blockchain is scehduled for Monday 15 July 2019 at 00:00 GMT, after the snapshot is made the new blockchain will become active at 00:10. the source code and binaries  will be available on github and i will post it publicly after the swap is completed.

What does "transact" mean?  Are you saying you're only giving TALK holders a short amount of time to swap?

What does "transact" mean?  Are you saying you're only giving TALK holders a short amount of time to swap?

It means do not send any coins. If your coins are not confirmed at snapshot time, they may not reflect on the new chain.

This is not a user-side swap, it's on developer side, current balances will be mapped to now chain, users need only download the new wallet at release, plug in old wallet.dat and boom! your coins will be there waiting for you.
