Yes. I can see both way's on this. On one hand it is not a spot going to get Bit-x the most views of signature. But on other side a lot of important things happen in Meta. So Bit-x having a representation in there is good. A example of it working is us getting "micro earnings" created. Now a lot of faucet/small paying websites do not clutter up services and allow Bit-x not to be pushed down by them on forum. So I could go either way on it. |

I also believe that the Meta section is not ideal for bit-x to advertise effectively but that's not the main reason that I think we shouldn't be paid to post there.
The reason that I'm suggesting that is because signature campaigns quite obviously motivate people to post more. As a side effect, there are a lot of low effort posts cluttering this important section. This isn't really beneficial for a forum section where important discussion about the forum and it's participants is supposed to take place.
As an example: Topics about personal conflicts in the meta section receive hundreds of replies in many cases and it's hard to spot the most valuable comments among everything.
I guess that advising participants to be extra cautious when posting in the meta section could also serve as a less radical fix.

It's my personal opinion, but in my view the signature campaign is not about the most valuable opinions about anything. The reason why there is a requirement to not spam is not for the the reason the post is not constructive, but for the reason people could not abuse it and post as much as they can on purpose, not when they feel like it and farm the generous rewards. The main reason of an ad in your signature is to catch an eye of a newbie not invested in cloudmining and not using an exchange, and choose Bit-x as their main. Rarely they will click it because your post is insightful in the eyes of legendary members and such, but because your post is in the right place at the right time to be clicked because the clicker is interested and ready for services like Bit-x. Therefore I think posts in faucets and micro earnings threads should be included, I think they generate a lot of clicks to Bit-x because people always start faucets before they are ready for bigger things and that's where they should find proper advertising. Just my outlook on this  |
