Agree           /// Sp-tech philipma1957///     offered more without asking reward so deserves an SP-20

This is nice of you.  But the offer was for legends and not heroes. This is their thread .  I do not mind contributing info to it,  But please no one else post for me to get a free

 one.

The only reason I wrote this is because of what I have read in the site and your activity is already 854

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0

Legendary:   Activity: the Legendary membergroup has no universal activity requirement.
You are guaranteed to become Legendary somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity,
but the exact point in this range at which you become Legendary is random per user.
Gets 5 gold coins under his name of which the last is half dark blue.

The random number idea never meant anything in terms of coins, but now it unfortunately it has  punished people.
Shame as it is a nice promo that now has managed to  make a  hero over 775 lose a  $700 usd gift.
There are at least 6 or 7 of us in this spot.

Anyway I did an over night test of one of my 5 sp20's  I ran it under clocked at about 725 watt and 1289 gh using a seasonic 860 plat psu.  No worries as it did fine.  One of the nice things about this promo is many of the members have different psu's and they can test them to show results.

my overnight testing of one with a seasonic 860 plat psu

question.
these reviews will be on their own separate threads right?

if they all go on one thread, it'll be a tad cluttered and I hope they are on separate threads so that they can remain independent.

I'm not sure separate threads would be a good idea - there's already about 5 SP20 threads and another 10 is going to annoy the admins. Heck, even 5 is more than other products are usually allowed before things start getting merged.

but each review is bound to be different, so merging them would cause slight confusion to anyone asking questions or giving remarks.
the way i see it, it's not entirely a marketing ploy as these miners are selling well, more of a thank you gift to those who have been in the mining game since days of yore so I don't see an issue with having separate review threads. Perhaps the Admins should consider making child boards for each manufacturer. within the hardware section? It's not as though forum space is a concern - look at the funds which have been donated to the forum (don't get me started lol)

ADD: discuss here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=889336.msg9805837#msg9805837

The OP says "The only condition is to post the review, including pictures, under a new thread under Mining -> Hardware, within 3 days of receiving the hardware."

I guess a new thread is asked of here. *camps in front of pc waiting for tracking number*

I'll be overclocking it with two CX750's as long as it's not too noisy. Judging from the snowfall out there, the holiday season should be perfect for some mining to heat up everything. Smiley

got my tracking number Smiley

I will run it stock for a day or so.  then I will over clock and under clock .

I will probably use a couple of 750's at first for the ability to use the killawatt, but I would like to wire it directly to a IBM 24R2710 DPS-2000BB 2000Watt Power Supply

once I wire it to this supply, I will have to measure the amps on the 6G wire directly

We have run 2 SP20s at full speed off one of those DPS2k's, fantastic PSUs.

My old friend, I am sorry in advance Tongue A minor underclock and you should be okay to lower the 80% fan down though.

Cry Not even if I point it at the frigid air outside? It's been some time since I mined after the days of FPGA's and GPU's, so I'm not too sure what to expect here.

Not even. It really doesnt get "bearable" for what I consider to be home noise levels (im sensitive though) till under 50-60% fan speed. It really varies from person to person, couple of my clients put them in their bedrooms at 100% speed...

Welp, I guess I'll see how it goes next Monday.  Shocked
I'm not that sensitive to white noise, although admittedly I'm planning to put them in a small room where I'll probably be working around them...

I have 3 x SP10 running in a container unit and they have direct air-con pointed at the intake.
the aircon is set at 16celcius.

I have 1 xSP31 running in a garage unit, however they draw cool air from the back wall which is currently ~5celcius and intake temps are at ~11celcius

I have 1 x SP20 in the room next to the lounge in my home, pulling air directly from outside, through an open window (bugger it's cold outside) and it's running perfectly well.

that's about all i can advise really  Undecided

interesting view...
by the way some years ago when I was looking for land I had  a suggestion for a really nice land
with a big minus it was next to a graveyard.I did not like the idea off-course and turned down the offer
but today seeing the place the owner planted large trees and the graveyard cant be seen from his farm.
not like this picture off-course...
Have you seen this series Les revenants i am seeing it these days its so unpredictable like LOST
end of discusion this is a mining forum LOL...
